[ It troubles Medusa to have to do this: to admit to what she doesn't know. But she doesn't have the luxury of trying to remain proud. Her people need her. ]
Greetings, fellow shard-holders of the Seelie Court. My name is Medusa. Where I come from, I am the queen of a people known as Inhumans, in a kingdom called New Attilan. I speak to you today to ask you for your help, and for whatever information you may have.
First, if you have heard of us— the Inhumans, our city of Attilan— or our allies the Fantastic Four, the Avengers: I would speak to you. I would know how long you have been here, where you were, what you were doing when you were taken, what you have learned since. It does not matter if we knew each other before. If we share friends in common, then you may consider yourselves friends of mine.
[ Until the moment in which they prove themselves false. But Medusa carries on as though this hasn't occurred to her. See how answers, and if there are enemies who come out of hiding. ]
If you are an Inhuman, of any tribe or city— know that you can always come to me for aid. The time for petty and superficial differences has passed. We are one people, and as one people I will defend you and stand for you as I would any citizen of New Attilan. Should we ever leave this place, you will always be welcome there.
[ This, too: she has ways of knowing who might pretend to be one of her people as well. But if they're here, others besides Kamala...she needs to find them. ]
Second, I would like to hear your opinions on what we've been called to do. Tell me what you think of this war, and of your experiences. If you fear reprisal, speak to me privately and I will keep what you said in strictest confidence. I will come and meet you anywhere you desire. You see, I cannot pledge my allegiance and my willingness to serve before I know who and what it is I pledge for. To stake myself is to stake my kingdom and my people, and I cannot do so lightly.

Kirei doesn't know of Inhumans, Attilan, the Fantastic Four, or the Avengers, so he skips right to the rest.]
I think if I have been called to serve in this war, then that is what I must do. [Full stop.] I fight for the Seelie cause and everything it stands for, including the Void.
[He says this in some sort of stone room, the echoes of children playing and people murmuring filtering in from outside.]
video; locket
Because you believe in it, or simply because you were called to serve, and you feel obligated to answer the call?
[ Although she suspects from the way he says it that the distinction will be meaningless to him. ]
video; locket
... Both. Because I have been chosen, I feel as though I shouldn't refuse. But it is also the case that I believe the Seelie are in the right.
video; locket
[ Her hair visibly moves, a brief obfuscation of expression, pensive wave-like movements around her face. This is curious. ]
video; locket
[So the distinction might be useless.
He bows his head, closes his eyes, as if her questions require some thought.]
I do not know how it would play out if I did not believe in their cause. If I were Unseelie, I believe I would have much questioning to do. Luckily, I have been given to the side I'm compatible with. The cause the Seelie fight for-- I cannot deny that it brings me honor to support it. It influences my will to fight.
video; locket
[ It's one thing if they simply keep them there, if they happen to be awkward pawns of fate and this is truly something of a cosmic accident and not a sinister plan. It's another if what they love, everything they hold dear, is somehow threatened if they refuse to cooperate.
One can potentially be forgiven. The other, she'll eventually try to answer with retribution. The Inhumans do not forget. ]
Thank you for answering my questions so honestly. If I may, I would like to ask one more, that I hope is not too deeply personal— this cause of the Seelie. How do you explain it? How do you approach it, when you take it as your solemn duty?
video; locket
Again, there is no choice.
He opens his eyes and faces his locket calmly, because he has nothing to hide.]
It's fine. What the Seelie aim for is simple. Their goal is to protect the natural order of the universe, the way things have always been, so that the Void might complete its duty and a new universe can be reborn. I see it as the righteous choice to respect all life. Anything else is selfish and short-sighted. Sacrifice is needed from us just as we are granted gifts; death is a necessary part of life, and the Seelie would not see our deaths ill-rewarded. Nor the deaths of those we hold dear.
[To put it simply:]
It is a purpose greater than any of us. I am convinced my God would support the Void's path, because He would do whatever is needed to run the universe by His rules. And so, I support the Seelie.
video; locket
Well. That's probably not really the point, is it? But even Medusa thinks that the preservation of the universe is more important than her own anger. Though, depending on the sacrifice— and yet there's a problem she can't disclose to a stranger. She suspects her universe is also ending, or in danger of destruction, and there's no guarantee what comes next. It would be nice to believe something would come back. ]
Who survives from one universe to the next, for this to be a known, confirmed fact?
video; locket
No one, as far as I know. That's the nature of the Void. It consumes all life, and then life comes back again.
video; locket
And what of the Station? Is it not possible to make observations about the fabric of the universe from there? Since it is the only place equipped with the adequate tools to do so.
[ That she knows of. ]
video; locket
The Station offers equipment to look at the state of the entire universe?
video; locket
[ It's unfortunate none of them are Reed Richards or Tony Stark. ]
I know such equipment exists. I have possessed it. It's only a question of whether or not a reconstruction could be attempted successfully.
video; locket
[He knew it was too good to be true. Kirei frowns to himself, inwardly dissatisfied at the difference in priorities.]
I don't know if it would be wise to ask for knowledge or time to be dedicated to that kind of effort. The Drabwurld is already running on limited time. It seems as though it would be better, in my eyes, to pursue magic or the insight of gods. Our High-Queen is herself a Goddess. Ask your questions of her at a royal audience.
video; locket
We have very little to lose at this point. We are all already here, and it's already coming.

[And there is a firm tenor to his voice in those words, something serious.]
video; locket
Can't stop her from judging hard, though. This is a political nightmare, and it's hard not to see this as looking excessively incompetent. ]
And what do you suggest I do to go about learning more? In your experienced opinion.
