( the video shows a petite girl, standing in a bedroom in caer glaem and facing the locket, back straight; she's a bit off-centre, leaving a notable gap to her right that's either unoccupied or filled with a wolf pup, depending on your magical/supernatural abilities (as in: whether or not they exist; he can only be seen by those with power).

Hello everyone! I'm Yuzuriha Nekoi, fourteen years old, and right now I live in Tokyo, Japan! I've just arrived here, and I'm glad to meet everyone!

( don't falter! but she bites her lip. ) Um, I just had one question! I heard we're supposed to be 'helping in a battle,' but I don't know exactly how we're supposed to start? ( she also doesn't realise these questions can be filtered. or really that there's another group she's meant to be filtering from. yuzuriha frowns slightly, clasping her hands before her. after all, if she abandoned everyone for this place, she has to do her duty, right? ) Um… or… really, what to do in general… ( she trades a look with the wolf pup/empty space beside her, and then remembers that she's supposed to be making a good impression, not worrying. hurriedly: )

But it really is very nice to be here! I'm ready to do my best, so I hope we all get along!

[A quick pause, looking-over, and cocking a brow at the locket - is this working...? Then transitions right on into speaking quickly and half-absentmindedly.] They may want us to rest. Before they treat us as... fit to fight. For them.

[After all, they barely know who their apparent supposed masters in this are.

Picks up a bit more decidedly:]

Greetings, Yuzuriha Nekoi. My name is Anthony. Sixteen years. [Couple of sideways-cast glances, is he introducing himself properly, is this locket indeed working.] I, as well -- hope that we can.

[Fourteen, jeez. Ike's seen some young faces around Caer Scima too, and it's not like he hadn't had members of the Greil Mercenaries that young, but he can't say he really likes it here.]

What do you do back home? If you're not a fighter, you're better off sticking to support. You'll only get yourself and other people injured otherwise.

[Oh, he's doing this backwards.]

[ so young. she can empathise with that feeling of uncertainty -- of not knowing how to provide for the effort. even now, left out in the field, she feels lost. ]

In my experience, the High King and High Queen will make it evident when it is time to help. Beyond that, please take care. These battles are not for the faint of heart.

[ she speaks as one who is beginning to realize her heart may indeed be very faint indeed. ]

[ Fourteen wasn't as young as it could have been but it was still very young. Elincia reminds herself Sanaki had been even younger some years ago...but Sanaki had been born into her position and had the support of an entire country behind her. It seemed different for this young girl, so Elincia smiles warmly at her to be reassuring]

For what you should do, I suppose it depends on what your talents are and what you're willing to do.

Don't worry! I can take care of myself pretty well. ( with an easy, cheerful confidence. whether or not she can, well, it's her duty, isn't it? having a set destiny makes things easier in ways.

she peers at the girl. ) What are the king and queen like? Have you met them? Are they nice?

I'm ready to do anything! ( determinedly, and she means it. cooking? cleaning? fighting? ) I'm here for a reason, and I don't want to let anyone down. ( here, or at home. no — stop worrying about that. )

( she can't shake hands or anything like this, so she settles for smiling brightly. she's glad people are offering advice; she was a little worried. ) Um, to answer your question, I can help out in a lot of ways! I'm still learning, but I'm a pretty good cook. I can do chores really well — Grandma never let me slack off — and I can fight too!

I don't really care what I do, I just want to do something.

( some of her enthusiasm tapers off; her eyes are still bright, she's still unworried, but she doesn't quite understand what's being said and approaches it a little more seriously as a result. ) You hope we can… be fit to fight?

[Eyes pop a little wider, an innocent non-verbal "excuse me"? And hastens to fix:] Ah -- that we can get along! Forgive me - I am... unsure what to make of this, yet, myself.

Of being here, and of fighting.

I'm not really sure either. ( kindly, if anything, smiling like it's no big deal! ) But we're here for a reason, so it's our job to do our best, right?

But -- but we know we were brought here! [Not heavy, on his end, either - not for the moment. There're still questions to be asked!] I mean - that someone had us brought here.

It - wasn't fate, really. It was -- due to their purpose, wasn't it? We... have to understand what -- the king's designs for us are.

[Look aside and a soft "Hmm" sound - fidgeting a bit; if he thinks he sounds ominous, it could only be in his head, but he'll divert the tone anyhow.]

Are you aware if there's a library, yet, by the way? In Caer Glaem. Reading of this war's history, and the court's, may well... help.

But they didn't bring us here by accident. ( so, they're here for a reason. that seems pretty obvious, and more than that, yuzuriha wants it to be true. if it's not… well, she's not going to worry about that right now. )

I didn't know there was a library. I haven't done much exploring at all yet.

[Tiny trace of an unsure smile.] Nor have I.

[And a soft "Hm" puff of breath.] I expect it would be poor form to carry a sword with me. It was not taken from me as they brought me here, it seems, and the castle appears normal. [Considering it's full of creatures, that's insofar as it's civilized. Well-conducted and well-overseen. Peaceful.] Still, I'd -- rather not be surprised.

I've met her grace. She seemed...[ hmm. ] Elegant. Generous, in her speech and even in her time.

[Ike isn't the best smiler in the world, but his expression is distinctly non-severe. An attempt was made.]

You've got a lot of energy. If you can find some healers, they've always got chores to do.

Of course! ( she's pleased to hear this. she's never met any sort of royalty, but that sounds about what she'd expect. graceful and beautiful, like in a story… ) I'd like to meet her too. After all, they're the ones who brought us here, right? They even gave me a room, and it's really nice! I'd like to thank them!

I don't really know much about healing… ( not that she's against that. helping is helping! )

Surprised by what? ( she tilts her head slightly to the side, like a dog might. everything seems so nice, so pretty… there's a lot of magic here, enough that even she can sense it without trying, heavy in the air, but none of it seems bad, exactly; not that she's run into so far. )

Attack.

[He sinks a little as he says it - vaguely shamefaced. They both think the same, below that - there's no feeling or clue to imply that someone needs to expect something horrid's lurking. Not in the castle, and not immediately.]

A trap, or -- an ambush. Or creatures - where... there shouldn't be, any.

You, er. [He shakes his head to start speaking in the space before his words do.] Haven't -- seen... any trouble - here either, yet - have you.

No… ( she drags out the word a bit, as though reluctant; giving it some thought. he seems nervous. she doesn't know if that's justified or not, and she doesn't want to tell him that he's wrong, but… )

But I'm sure it's not like that! Why would anyone want to hurt you?

One would be surprised; I've been to -- a church - in a peaceful village filled with demons. It was... where I died. [Not to spring that on her, but on his end it's literally hundreds of years over with; he can say it as if it's an "I slipped and fell, so now I don't run in the rain".]

I'd rather be aware that there could be anything treacherous out there than -- let it befall.

[All over, it is nervous rather than grave.]

( but this place doesn't have that sense at all, she thinks, and would say — but gentle tone or not, there's no way she can let a statement like that slip by. )

Yes! Is that not -- [Slips awkwardly high.] -- common...?

Or - have you not spoken with many of... us - yet on how they... came to be here?

[Neither has he, come to think of it, for all he knows, yes, people having been brought from the dead to be brought here could be a distinct exception.]

I don't know! I'm not dead… ( she curls her hands under her chin. she's not. ) Are you a ghost, or some kind of spirit? It's not a bad thing to be dead! ( unless he's vengeful, or something… but he seems very nice! )

You wouldn't have to. They'd find a use for you.

[At least, he imagines healers are the same everywhere.]

Besides that, there's not much else to do during a war but train and rest. It sounds like they handle the marching part for us.

[With his luck, they'd have the imps drag them places in sacks instead of just using the fairy rings like Elincia's side apparently did.]
