[There's a pause as she catches her breath after the initial whirlwind of emotion at Emma being affected by the silver sickness, the worry and guilt as they kept searching for answers. That the True Love's Kiss actually worked against this as well as it had any other curse back home. Snow is still a little breathless at that, but she feels it is important to try tell others. This particular method might not work for everyone, but if there's a chance it could help even one other.....it would be worth this.]

I know some are newer around here. Not the best of circumstances to meet but I'm Snow. And I figured at least one method against this silver spreading. But it might not work for everyone. Back home, in Storybrooke, in the Enchanted Forest, there was one way to cure any curse. True Love's Kiss. It works against this too. Of course not everyone would be able to use this option, like I said. But I thought....if it could help even one other person besides Emma, my daughter, I should tell you. I hope everyone is managing all right through this. If I can help more, just let me know.

[Yes, she said her daughter. Snow White has a daughter. And still believes in the likes of True Love in spite of everything. In spite of being separated from her own, Charming, for over a year here.]

[Of course Snow can be cautious. She just doesn't see the need to as far as Emma being concerned since there's no reason thus far to think her daughter could be in danger by association with her.

She knows the concept of secrets. It's just. This isn't one she even knew she was supposed to keep. Really, Emma, this helps if you let her know before she goes and tells everyone like this.]

I never said this would work for everybody. But it's something at least. And yes, those in the Seelie court can hear you. I'm just--so relieved it worked! You're okay.

( honestly, Emma's overzealous secrecy is probably unnecessary. it's just it wasn't too long ago that openness about her family ended up with Henry kidnapped. and... underneath that, it's hard for Emma to refer to her mother as that publicly, when it's hard enough for her to call her Mom just when they're alone.

it's too late now, though... and it's not like she can be mad. she's just worried. )

Yeah. I still can't believe it.

( hopefully that doesn't sound cruel. it shouldn't be a shock that her mother loves her. (truly loves her, though, that's new. though not a bad new.) Emma is still processing and honestly it's overwhelming. )

[Snow is well aware of Emma's cautiousness and her hesitancy after such an upbringing. She can't change all that, can't wave a magic wand and suddenly they would be a perfect family with no issues at all. There would always be issues, always that lingering guilt over how things ended up in spite of her best intentions for her daughter.]

I was just trying--well, everything I could think of. That always worked back home. I guess it was just. Instinct.

[If some might take it as cruel, Snow herself isn't one of them. She knows their situation, Emma and her upbringing. Those walls she's worked so hard on even as over time Snow has been breaking them down and reassuring her as best she could. But of course, as her daughter, Snow loves her. The same way Emma loves Henry. Both separated from their child for years as they were through adoption. And other worlds.]

You could have gotten infected too.

( it's a little lacking when it comes to reprimand. it would have been kind of heartbreaking to try and cure her with true love only to realize she didn't love her as truly as she thought. that would have been awful, for both of them.

this is... this is good. though intimidating, honestly. true love is so confusing, do they truly love each other? or does Mary just truly love her? it's a lot. )

Could have. But I didn't. We're both fine, Emma.

[Reassuring her daughter even in the face of being reprimanded by her. The important thing is that they're fine. She is fine. So it worked out. She isn't thinking nearly as deeply on this as Emma seems to be, whether Emma would have been able to return the favor at all if she had also gotten infected as a result in her attempts to cure her.]

Yeah. We are.

( she can hardly believe it but there's no denying it now. her mother truly loves her. and it's hard to accept but it's terrifying and wonderful all at once. she truly loves her mother, and her mother truly loves her. )

We're both okay. ( there's a breath of a laugh there, even if it's hard to digest. )

I told you we would figure something. And I did. I wasn't about to let things stay like that. And you'd have done the same if it were me.

[There's a joy and relief there all over again, almost akin to them finding each other at the feast earlier. Knowing they weren't alone. The knowledge that Emma was all right after that. Snow would give anything to keep things this way. As any mother would, as any mother should.]

( would she have done the same, if the situations were reversed? well, a part of her wonders, but another knows that she would have. it would have been worth trying, just in case. she's managed to save Henry that way, wouldn't it have been worth a shot? as terrifying as it would have been, she'd have tried. )

Yeah. You were right.

( it's not often that Emma admits she's wrong, but this time, she definitely was. and she's willing to admit that. believing doesn't get her very far most of the time, but maybe she should have tired believing in her mother. )

I can be. Sometimes.

[Not all the time. Nobody is. But sometimes she is, sometimes that faith and hope is rewarded, in spite of everything. Which is what keeps Snow going, keeps her believing and as optimistic as she is.]

You're right a lot more than I give you credit for.

( it's hard to shake her negative, unhappy view of life, that's just how Emma works. how Emma has been raised. how life has treated her. she wishes she had that brightness in her, to see things the way her mother does. it's not easy to think positively for her, but maybe she can try a little harder.

Snow was right a lot in the Enchanted Forest and Emma refused to listen, to the detriment of everyone around them; she doesn't want that to happen again. she won't. )

Well, I try. It's all anyone does. I say I'm going to do something. I mean it. I try my best.

[She doesn't mean to make Emma feel inadequate or insecure about her different outlook. If anything it helps to balance out Snow and her optimism to have Emma's more grounded and cautious presence and outlook. She know the reasons why Emma isn't as hopeful as she is. Maybe she would have been if she and Charming had raised her at the castle back home. But they didn't get that chance. They'll never know. Either way, she is still Emma. Still her daughter and Snow still values her different opinions all the same.]

( if she's honest, Emma feels like she's not the only one that tends to discount things that don't mesh with her life experience. her mother has doubted her instincts before, and they are often right. she was right about Tamara, she was right about Henry, but nobody seemed to listen.

she nods, and then realizes that can't be heard. )

I hope it helps people, but ... maybe it should be a last ditch effort.

I know it is a risk. And I never promised or guaranteed it would work for everyone. I just figured it was another option people can take and consider.

[They are both at fault at times. Snow for being far too trusting and wanting to believe the best in people where Emma sees the need for caution, sees through lies that others might not pick up on or consider why they would need to lie about anything in the first place. It's not just Emma that has made mistakes in not trusting others, not believing. But they're working on it. Both of them, in opposite ends of this. Snow towards trying to be more cautious while Emma tries to open herself up to others more. A work in progress.]

Yeah. It's an option.

( Emma honestly has to wager that it won't work for most people, it's just that things are getting kind of desperate. she hopes it will help someone... but it seems like a rare circumstance. )

It's something. While we keep looking for other methods, while some are still affected by this at least.

[Because she has to look on the bright side of this. It's Snow. Of course she does. Even if this might not help a lot of people it could still potentially help perhaps a few others.]

We should keep looking, just in case. Or ask around, see what worked for others.

( because this won't work for everybody, and Emma doesn't want anyone to get turned to silver if she can avoid it. she still has that Charming sensibility hardwired into her, she doesn't want anybody to suffer if she can do something to stop it. )

Of course. I may have helped you with this, but there are still others. This isn't over yet.

[Nor will it be until they can confirm that everyone is cured and this isn't still lingering and spreading all over again. They still have some work to do. But there's some progress, however small, in each potential cure they discover.]

The fact people are finding cures is a good sign.

( Emma is never blindly optimistic, but she is practical. people are finding ways around this, and they can find more. it isn't as grim as it was, even a few days ago. if there's a way, Emma is going to find it. )

It is. It means getting this dealt with isn't impossible. Difficult, perhaps. But not impossible. We can do this.

[As if Emma expects Snow to be any less optimistic and hopeful. Her mother always is, naturally, in comparison to her daughter's more cautious and grounded optimism.]

Yeah. We'll figure it out.

( just enough of that stubborn shine that it makes sense where she gets it from. Emma doesn't do optimism unless it can be paired with confidence, and she has that now. )

We will. Together. And with everyone else trying to look into it too.

[Teamwork. Between all of them, they are bound to come up with other solutions.]
