eleventh bull ( video )
( Seelie )
[It is too soon that she stands in this place once again with her locket pointing at her. It is clear she is emotional, her state of dress frenzied. Lucrezia has been crying, that is for sure, but she wears a sterner look now.]
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of Governor Fortuna of Treun. [It has long been unsafe here, but with such a bold move again, she shakes her head.]
First his dear sisters, and now he seems to follow them. I have little details myself, but whoever has done this-- [Her jaw tightens, flexes for a moment.] I would reward anyone handsomely for anything they could tell me.
[But she is not just a grieving family member. She is a diplomat. So Lucrezia takes another deep breath.]
Regardless of who the city may elect, I will still honor all trade and all alliances that have been thusly made.
[She rubs at her nose, her hand shaking uncontrollably. There is a lightheadedness that threatens her, and she knows she must lie down.]

Then there is a viper within, and they must be cut down at once. Do you have means to root them out?
( Meanwhile, the politician she has become sees this for what it is: an opportunity. To help an important figure in a moment of need, to possibly earn a favour in the act of offering one. And to possibly take a step in forging alliances. If she's going to be here for any length of time, she recognizes the integral need for those. )
Regardless, I am willing to offer my sword to assist in any way you may need. ( She thinks of the take-down of Jarl Borg, and the plans in the works to nullify the threat of King Horik. ) I have some experience with such things.

Can you come to the city? I will lodge you if need be, and anything you need, it shall be done.

I can. ( Now that she actually has a map courtesy of the library. A helpful fairy pointed out where everywhere aloud. ) It will be done.
I would seek out a cure for this plague while I'm there. Illness wiped out many of my people four years ago. I would not see it do so here.
( It's a really bad time for this to happen. So much so that she has to wonder. )

( Honestly, she's neither embarrassed nor put off by this. )
We'll just have to work together. I'll make my way over there as soon as I can. I want to check on the farmsteads along the road to see how the people are doing.

A friend of mine thinks it a spell of some kind.

Do we know what the origin is, yet?

No. I'm just thankful it's not airborne, like the plague. I nursed the people of my village through an outbreak.
( She'd lost her daughter then. Others had lost much more. Then, she had looked calm and composed. The same as she does now. )
Are any of the natives in your territory infected?

I believe this sickness has swept through this land rather quickly. If it has not, then surely it will soon. [And while she is mostly secured for the time being, given the political turmoil, but that did not mean it would remain so.]
» video
( It definitely will, seeing as it seems to be spread by touch; and people here have a fondness for doing just that. )
That's a certainty. It must be managed, as well as treated. This book you speak of may hold the key to doing both.

I hope to find such a solution.

Was it an unnatural death then, mademoiselle?
[She asks gently. Quietly. Obviously it was but few details are better than no details.]
I am so sorry for your loss and your upset.

It was murder, then? What has happened?

[She knows what it's like to desperately seek a killer. Hopefully they will both ultimately be successful.]
