I don't like to kill needlessly, but it will keep happening—if you meet someone who wants to let that thing destroy everything, including you, then you should find your chance and stick a blade into their heart.

[ she hurls her locket at the wall, and the video hits its target and shuts down. ]

[ Johnny doesn't want to kill -- not unless he has to, not unless they come for the people he loves. Katsa's angry and he understands it, but here's a promise. ]

My world almost got eaten by some giant, ugly f-- thing but it was defeated. We'll find a way to get rid of that thing, too.

We had help.

[ The Silver Surfer had saved them all in the nick of time. But there's no herald now for this, and Johnny frowns. He wishes Reed were here; the man has an answer for everything. What would he have done? ]

Find out if this has happened before. We've really got to work together now. I'm sure there's a way to stop it, we just have to find something that can send the void away. Or shrink it into nothing. Who's the smartest person around here?

I wish it were as easy as fighting it. Or simply sending it up in flames. I'd feel better if it were. Are you looking for a particular specific answer?

[ Her mouth twitches, almost imperceptibly. ]

There should be a collection of nerds somewhere, right? Calculating the possibilities, the physics, working out how to reverse-engineer it.

We could shut it down if we figure out how it works, because I'm damn sure that thing's not a black hole. [ They'd all be swallowed by it by now, for one. ] Who knows, Katsa? We could save everyone if all of us did the whole combining-powers and knowledge thing.

[ Katsa rubs her face. ]

That's the sort of thing my cousin's good at doing, but he's not here. I'll just have to focus on trying to keep the Seelie forces away until others can figure it out. I know I can fight them.

Well, uh -- it's a little tricky to explain. Basically it's like the void, but way more violent at this distance. It sucks in everything, even light. It's eaten lots of planets and stars, and when it does, it'll get bigger.

[ He smiles a little. ] Your cousin, huh? I have a brother-in-law who's good at that stuff, too. Too bad neither of them are here. But hey, we can fight them together, right? We can't let those assholes win, especially after what they did to Mair.
