Not there, you idiot! There, along with the rest of them! I told you thrice already!
[A bustling scene of one of Leathann's many ports comes into view over the locket, suspended in air by magic. Atop a tower of crates, as if standing upon his very own throne, Gilgamesh orders groups of various people about, directing resources and refugees alike. He seems very much in his element here, and only after several moments does he bother addressing his audience.
Giving a crisp salute with his fingers, Gilgamesh grins.]
Ah, yes, I just remembered! All of you, get down to Leathann immediately. I require your aid. We're saving this island.
[And there, just like that, he announces impossible intentions as casual as could be: we're saving this island. He sounds so utterly convinced with himself, blows past the matter so quickly, there's no doubt Gilgamesh believes every word of it.
There will be a miracle in Leathann, and Gilgamesh will be the hero to usher it in.]
So by order of the King of Heroes, [a booming declaration, a sweeping gesture] HAUL ASS! I expect the very best from each and every one of you!
[...someone throws a rotten tomato at Gilgamesh from the gathered crowd.]
Wh... wh... who did that?! WHO FALLS FIRST UPON MY BLESSED BLADE?! ENUMA—
[The feed shuts off abruptly as that tower topples over. Whoops.]
(( Companion log here! Tag in at your leisure. ))

And where, might I ask, did you acquire such a creature? Wrestled it yourself to the ground, I presume, made it beg for the pleasure of your service? Naughty girl, going and doing a thing like that...

I'm afraid I'm not strong enough to accomplish such a feat just yet. I can't even make Lancer budge by punchin' him in th' chest. [For all the upper body strength she had gained from years of archery. Although she's sure Appa would roll over for belly rubs.] I'm borrowing him from a friend since she can't be there for the evacuations herself.

[All the more so with these cursed coins floating about. Which reminds him...]
Merida. I know you would look after yourself, but be mindful of where you tread. These people are no longer so welcoming to us. They do not trust us. They will hurt you if they feel it might ease their anger, somehow.
[Yes, that's Fun Dad watching out for you, Merida. And if Fun Dad's worried about something, you probably should be, too.]
Keep close to me whenever you're able. I could use the company besides.

I'll be careful. I'm better with my runes these days. [She'd made sure that her armor was well able to resist some things when she'd gotten it made as well. Merida gives a small smile.] I think I would like your company myself, my king.

[Giant sky bison in tow. Sometimes he regrets never having met her as she once was, the adventures she must've had, the battles she must've fought and the struggles she must've endured to come out so fierce and so brave.
And all the time, he regrets ever calling her child. How very wrong he had been. But he can't quite admit it to her face, proud thing he is and shall always remain. He's sure she understands.]
Diarmuid is here, by the way.
[He hints it, as he can't hide his sly little smile. He knows hearing it will lift her spirits.]

Merida's expression does brighten when he says that, though internally she feels guilty for not having seen Diarmuid lately. One hand twirls Appa's reins around between her fingers, shaking her head.]
I haven't seen papa in a while. Please tell me he's been keepin' out of trouble.

[He's not at all surprised to hear the term of endearment from her lips; he wasn't much better himself, having just knighted the man in his service. But he'll let her discover that on her own, tease her a bit more.
Because it's true that he remains childish, and that he still finds great fun in poking some at her.]
I wonder where I might fall on your family tree, then. [Scandalously:] I was kissing your papa but naught a few minutes ago. How easily he flusters in public! I must confess I'm only getting him into even more of this trouble. I must confess I feel no guilt for this at all.
[Like father, like daughter.]

[It didn't feel strange at all either, to accept such a thing from a man who was already dead by her time. Diarmuid had already felt like that to her, so it felt right. The teasing makes her pause, though it's not like back when she first arrived and hadn't heard of such a thing without it being handmaiden rumour. Back then, she would have spluttered and shut the feed off, but instead her head tilts, teasing smile crossing her lips.]
Well I could have told you he flusters easily in public if you'd wanted. You should have seen him when you leaned against him during th' tournament. [A little airily as she waves her hand before she shakes her head.] As long as he's happy, but you might want to be careful, my king. An exchange of gifts an' a formal announcement are all it takes to be married in th' Drabwurld. Or so I've heard.

[Think about what you're doing here, Merida. Consider the consequences.]
no subject
[Consequences, what consequences?]

[More like he's broke and can't afford to buy a ring. Everyone point and laugh at the coinless King of Poverty.]
no subject
[There's a small shrug. The tradition is a dowry but if Gil can't pay that...]
I think somethin' from th' heart would get to him th' most.

[Gilgamesh flashes her an enthusiastic thumbs up! over the feed.]
But only if that makes me "Other Papa"! It's a worthy title for a worthy woman!

[Wording, Gil.]

My legs look stunning in all manner of dress, so I'm told. In this case, it makes no difference.

That's only for papa.
no subject
Then I'll ask papa. Think it would embarrass him if I asked in public?
no subject
Y... you can't just ask for my legs by proxy! I forbid it! They're a sacred treasure!
no subject
We're almost to Leathann. I'll see you in a bit, my king.
[And feed off.]
