 I know I've made an entry like this before, but I thought it might be apt to make a new one considering how official things have become lately.

[ Hermione looks at the camera, initially nervous but gathering in her own determination, expression tightening before she continues to speak, careful and measured and making sure she doesn't rush her words. Anyone that hasn't seen her since June will have heard the rumours of her duel and will see the mark of it on her face - a scar, healed now, covering the left side of her from her brow down across her cheek. ]

My name is Hermione Granger and my friend Dorian Gray and I run a business called Artefacta. Together, we make and produce potions, runes and protective enchantments for you to use for whatever you happen to be doing while you're here in the Drabwurld. We can also create and enchant items for communication, generally compasses, should you need that for anything - or if the lockets stop working as they did this past year.

[ She nods her head, turning the camera to show off the cloaks, compasses and set of vials that litter the desk she's sitting behind. ]

If you need something please feel free to contact us privately or visit me at the White Citadel. Tell the guards outside my door you're here on business and I'll make sure they let you in.

[ Unfortunately, since January, Hermione has had her rooms on lockdown, just to be safe. Only a few people are allowed in without permission and, generally, people looking to buy things are not on that list.

But - she continues. ]

I've also been learning to duel and swordfight over the last year and I was hoping to find someone who wouldn't mind sparring or practising with me. Nothing professional or intense, I'm hardly that good, but a little something to make sure I don't go out of shape would be nice. [ He was not as sappy as Gilgamesh, by a long shot, but his voice does contain a degree of warmth. ]

[ Oh, yes, she never forgets a present and she looks very keen. ]

I'd be more than happy to. [ In his time here, he's found not as many use the sword-and-shield combination. ] It's certainly more useful for defending rather than attacking, though I might be able to teach you a few techniques here and there.

[Hey, look! It's Dorian! And he isn't all orgied up, or depressed and crying, or anything! He's sitting in a garden (Flora's) and looks relatively relaxed at the moment.]

Spar with me. My streetfighting improved dramatically during my nap, but there isn't much call for fencing in the 20th century. Not even in my circles.

[The grin turns lopsided.] And I promise to tend very carefully to any wounds I leave.

[ And, gosh, isn't Hermione proud. Her expression softens and she smiles, all tenderness for him. ]

I think we can arrange that. I still need to show you how artistic my rapier really is.

[Now that catches her attention. Merida gives a bit of a grin, though there's some understanding behind it. Had she been younger she would have boasted about not being bad with a sword, but here she just smiles in understanding.]

If you're in need of a partner more your size, I've been swordfightin' since I was a wee lass.

[ Hermione's own grin is a little brighter, now, and she looks earnest. ]

That would be wonderful. I have my magic but it never hurts to be prepared for whatever life throws at us.

Can you enchant any sort of item for communication? Apart from simply compasses.

As long as it has a flat surface that's smooth enough for video I can make almost anything work.

[ luke's glad the lockets are back in function — he was becoming dreadfully bored having to listen to idle chit chat from the natives whenever he was in leathann. it almost made him wish the only people he had to depend on for gossip was george and martha. back in caer glaem with no intentions to stay for too long, hermione can see him inside a tavern — the two snakes are in the distance, slithering on the top of a table with a fox following them, a wolf curled up in the background on the floor. ]

When you're up for something a little more intense, you've got my number.

[ it's been a while since he's properly sparred in a manner that hasn't been gambling or thieving secrets from people. either way, it's evident with the curve of his lips that it is a little joke. he's trained kids considered to be beginnings, those who are intermediate, and has faced an opponent who outranks him in ability, weight, status, and power. to him, sticking to the softer sparring opponents won't see someone advance as well as they could. ]

[ Having the lockets back certainly make things a whole lot easier and Hermione appreciates it - it's been a long time since she's been able to have any kind of nice, casual and, at times, boring or idle conversation with someone, friend or stranger. She welcomes the fact that she can find all her friends again, too, and she softens when she sees Luke, not even considering commenting on the wolf that she sees behind him. (Honestly, first foxes, then cows...) ]

Do you think you could handle me, Luke?

[ She's teasing, of course, more than anything else. She's entirely aware of the fact that he is far better with a sword than she could ever hope to be, even if she did keep practising as hard as she had been, but she does like to tease him and nudge at him when she can. Her smile is soft, a little friendly thing. ]

It's a little overwhelming - I hadn't imagined there'd be too many people that would want to practise with me. I'm quite impressed.

[ Video options and dragons do not go well together, but he's trying, he's trying. It's mostly just one big golden eye at first as he discerns whether the blasted locket really is working again, then he'll pull back away some. ]

It is good you did make a new one. I hadn't heard. [ He squints, considering also asking about Hermione's scar. That hadn't been there the first time, had it? But no, that could be rude. ] But why compasses, of all things? For something used as communication?

[ She doesn't mind in the least- he's making an effort, that's what she takes into account. Her smile is soft and she nods her head, leaning into the camera. ]

I'm always happy to share the word. [ She shakes her head, lifting up her own compass to show it off through the feed. ] It started out as a means to protect my friends but it developed from a boon.
