The Void is close to the edge of Mount Verla. The Pyrii refuse to leave and they have a week, maybe two at best, before they're swallowed by the Void.

They don't want to abandon their home. So I want to move it.

I've been taught the power to hold fire here, but I've yet to see the earth move. That still sounds marvelous.

I want to help. I can go longer than most without needing to stop to rest, but the same problem is causing panic where I am now in Aghmor, near Leathann. If there's a way I could help from here I'd do so in an instant. Perhaps I could find some time.

Leathann still has some time before it's gone. The Pyrii don't.

Sorry. I now a lot more people are worried about the people of Leathann than they are about the Pyrii or Mount Verla. It's just that I was on Leathann only a week ago and the Void hadn't yet reached the edge of it's shore. It's already eating into the land in the north. It's already here in the north.

And the Pyrii won't move to escape it. Their mountain is their home and they don't care if they die so long as they don't have to leave it.

It's so stupid. This whole war is stupid.

[ There's a pause before Katsa replies, the time she takes to read his reply multiple times and think. She doesn't quite know how to answer this. ]

Why won't they move? That seems silly. A mountain is just a mountain. They can find another one.

[ She has never had a home in the same way. She does not understand the attachment. ]

That's not how they see it. And I'm going to try lifting the mountain in about four, maybe five days. It's not much time to teach people to move the earth, but it should be enough to get the kind of power needed to move a mountain and walk it south. If we can't get the mountain off the ground and moving by the time the void is to the edge of it's base, then we'll leave. I don't think it will be much longer than two weeks for that to happen with how close it is.

[ But they will die if they don't see it differently, Katsa thinks, and she doesn't understand. But she doesn't believe they deserve to die, either. ]

Perhaps I can return to Dorchadas a little sooner: you'll need someone to make sure you have supplies and a guard if all the people you can find are moving an entire blazing mountain. I'll lend you my power if I can.

The Cul Lairid Orc is pretty empty, but I'm not going to say no to the help of a guard. Find a mask to hide your face and let me know if you need someone to teleport you over this way.

I can teleport once I've stepped through the fairy rings into Dorchadas myself. You don't need to bring yourself away from your missing.

Wan... why are you so eager to save them? And why did you risk your own safety to save me?

I'll try to remember that. But intentions count for a lot with me.

Because life is worth saving.

I think it is, too. I suppose I just wonder why you think so.

I didn't always. But around eight years ago, or nine now I guess, I started learning a lot about the world. And about what has real value. Life is one of those things.

It's not really a conversation that's easy to have over these. And not right now. We can talk about it more after we've tried to help the pyrii survive.

I suppose that's fine, then. But I'd like to hear it sometime soon. I hope to the skies that they do survive, and everyone comes out of this as unharmed as possible.

When there's a better time for it, I'll tell you. I promise.
