{Though he was expelled from Court last year, Aragorn is following the desires of the Elves. His own misgivings are his to bear and he realizes, in this more unpredictable Drabwurld, that alliances can mean the difference between safety and having his throat slit in the dark.}

I Othrann-in-Heneb stands as a haven for Elves and those they count as friends. It is well-fortified and trade is conducted regularly. Should you require Elvish herbs, healing or even their special brew of wine, contact me and we shall come to a profitable deal for both parties.

{He refuses to back down despite having encountered resistance from those he leads (and serves). The Elves will find him a very stubborn Man who is not swayed or injured by ill opinion.}

I seek peace for the Elves and the community at large. We must be cautious as our Court returns to normal. Any differences can - and will - be settled diplomatically.

{Meaning he is not above finding punishments for those who act violently or irrationally.}

I had visited once upon invitation from Thranduil. I had wished to help facilitate trade between I Othran-in-Heneb and Treun. It was a beautiful city. Too long has it been since I've seen it.

[The figure that appears on the locket may be unfamiliar, but the voice should not be. Though it had been some time since she had last seen or spoken to the Ranger, Zhaneel thought only respectfully of him. She had not kept in touch with many over the passing of two years, but seeing the neatly written script earns him a smile.]

I am glad to see some fashion of your presence, Aragorn.. it has been far too long since I have seen anything of you. I had feared you gone as well... [So many others had disappeared since the lockets went silent and others were only realized after the connection had been again restored. She tilts her head slightly, tucking hair that has fallen free from her braid once again behind her ear.]

I've not visited the lands of the elves, but if welcomed I would do so... [His expulsion from the Seelie court would not keep her away, would that she knew. Too many had left for her to take such to heart, even with the whispered warnings of the king and queen making their way throughout the Seelie lands.] If there is anything I might offer you... you need but ask and I will do my best to see it yours.

{Now here is a sight for sore eyes. After losing so many - including himself - and shouldering the changes the world has gone through, he has, more or less, accepted that most of those he knew are gone.

I am equally glad to see you, Lady Zhaneel. {He hasn't been himself - not in truth. Putting on a front is a good talent for any leader or ruler, but his heart has been broken for far too long.}

You are always welcome. (With a sharp shake of his head, his eyes look...oddly bright. Perhaps even filled with tears.} Can you travel safely? I could send you a guard.

[It seems inevitable that those loved and cared for shall leave in one fashion or another, though one loss was felt just as keenly as the next. Zhaneel tried not to keep herself distant from those she'd come to call friend, but the strain and tensions of the past two years had made their mark.]

You honor me with such a greeting, Aragorn... and again with such a warm welcome. [She knew well the trick and weight of holding a face for the public... she'd been doing it all her life, after all. Her smile slips ever so slightly when he shakes his head, catching the glint in his eyes. Though it pains her to see any such hint of sorrow or pain in one she calls friend, there would be time enough for that once she was there. For now, she flushes at the offer of a guard to escort her.]

Oh, no...! No, please... I can travel safely by wing on my own... would that you warn your archers of my arrival so I might avoid any unnecessary arrows or bolts? [She would be on her way in the beat of a wing... while some of her friends had left this place in body, it was also possible for the spirit to leave while the body remained and she wished not to see Aragorn as thus.]

If I were to give a friend a cold welcome, I would not deserve your company. {She doesn't know what seeing her - alive and whole (physically, at least) - has done for him.} No arrows shall fly your way, I promise. I will wait for you on the walls myself to ensure your safe landing.

{Protecting the Elves and seeing that they come to trust him - eventually - keeps him busy and keeps his thoughts from wandering overmuch. But he is a Man who, before he arrived, had been looking towards the future. It is difficult to curb that trait, though each time he gives into it, the horizon looks grimmer.}

Have you tried wine? The Elves make the best and I should like to share some with you.

I would scarce believe you capable of such a chilly greeting, my lord. [She smiles softly, her expression echoing the warmth in her tone. She inclines her head, smile never slipping.] Your words more than enough assurance... I'd not press you to perch aloft the parapets of anyplace to greet me, but only to see your welcoming smile.

[Flowery language came easily with Aragorn and it was a welcome change after the past two years of hard work and loss. She tilts her head slightly at the last, brow chanting slightly.]

I have not had the pleasure, my lord, though it is a known treat to my kind... I should very much enjoy such in your company. [Her eyes are bright and curious as she brushes errant hair from her eyes.] When might I come? There is naught holding me here of late... [A few friends, but she could maintain contact with them by locket.]

I could manage it if I were angry enough. {But never towards a friend or one of good spirit.} Press me or not, I will wait for you. I take nothing for granted in this world. I wish to see you safe inside the Keep myself.

{Because she deserves it and he fears what some of the more radical Elves might do to send a "message". He has no issue drawing an arrow and sending a violent Elf to an early grave. Peace must be kept and he is the leader whether they accept him or not.}

Wine and, hopefully, good company await you as soon as you can fly.

[She dips her head in acknowledgement, smile easing but not slipping away altogether.] I think we are all of us capable of such under the proper conditions, my lord. [She had not thought herself capable just a few years ago, but much had changed and she would be a force to be reckoned with if someone did injury to one of hers.

And then her smile returns and she laughs softly.]

Then I've no doubt I shall see myself safely within your walls, Aragorn. Not that the company shall be some of the best I've had in a long while.

[She knows not of the troubles that Aragorn fights with on a daily basis, but she will offer him every support within her power. She's also likely to pester him about archery... and the Elven language.]

I could fly this day... if my flight is continuous, then I should reach your by nightfall...

[OOC: Would you care to continue this as a log? Hand wave? I'm delighted to have her poke around the Elven lands with Aragorn...]

Unfortunately that is so. {He does not doubt her might or her fury if her friends are injured. All of them have a new side to them; a side born from grief, anger and loss.} You have nothing to fear from this Keep whilst I am in charge.

{He can fill her in, though the burden is his own. Sharing it with another does not appeal to him. Everyone is suffering. They need less on their plate; not more.}

Do not tire yourself over much, but you are welcome on this eve or any other. {Yes, he will camp out on the wall and wait.}

{OOC: I can start up a log for us! ♥ They need to have some happy down time.}

[She can be seen rising, the locket angle changing slightly as she gains her feet.]

I did not believe I had, my lord. [She trusted him. Both as a person and to keep her safe. As for his worries, she would not press him for them, but she would offer a willing ear should it come up, suffering be damned. Was a weight not easier to bear with another alongside to hold it with you?]

Then I shall see you by the moon's rise, my lord. [Aragorn, you are a gem among mankind.]
