SIXTH BLOOM ❀ | Compass Vidya waaay backdated to mid April 2,701

[Nobody else would know it, but it takes her a little while to gather her nerve to make this post, and when she eventually does, she tries not to let any awkwardness show. She is committed to this group, but when not a part of it, she is Seelie, whether she likes it or not, and must act in their favour. Recently, that's meant killing hundreds of orcs and Unseelie solidiers, and with many Unseelie on the filter--with their General no less...yes, well.

You see the problem.

It occurs to her for a fleeting moment that perhaps she should do this through text, instead. But, even if nobody else would know it, she would know that she was running away, and that's unacceptable, and not really like her at all. Before she activates her compass, she takes a breath, and stands as a tall oak.

Be objective, focus on the information at hand.]

Hello, everyone. I really hope you've been well in light of this cold spell. [Speaking very literally, there, and she allows for honest concern to colour her words.]

I've been in Leathann with some others to investigate the death of the Seven-Star Oracle. What we've discovered is that it was a murder by a masked Unseelie shardbearer. We could not ascertain his identity, but we do know he wasn't acting alone. She...we don't know how, but we know that they were connected in some way. She said she loved him. [Even now, she can't parse or get over that, and her eyes flicker to the side before she goes on. The worst is yet to come.]

I would spare some details, but they may be useful in case any of you are familiar with the ritual or wish to research it on your own, but he removed her eyes, tongue, and blood, all while she was still alive.

[Flora frowns, sadly, sickly, and takes a moment to swallow. If it's seen as weakness, she doesn't care, she won't apologise for it. But, she needs to prompting to continue, doing so on her own, and clearly.]

This is old magic, and it seems his goals are to raise a god that might be able to combat the Void itself. We've been told that among the people at the incident was a woman with fiery red hair, which might mean absolutely nothing at all--hair is easily changed--but it could be something, too. Whatever you do, I ask that you please, please act with the greatest care with what I've shared, especially with what I have to say next.

[She licks over her lips and takes a readying breath. Time has passed since they've all met together at New Year's, not much and yet a lot has happened in that space of time. Where will this road take them, and will they still want the same things at the end of it?

She's not entirely sure, but still, she trusts these people. She must.

She proves it further with what she has to say.]

The Void has an avatar.

I don't know who or what it is, or if they know that, themselves, but it does.

Well fuck.

[That's the best answer Waver's got for a few moments, horrified by the ritual, and what it might be used for.]

Is that hair a familiar colour, Flora?

[Is it Severine?]

Any thoughts on how to proceed?

It has to be out there somewhere. I think going to temples might be the best idea, as they might have information outside of the court and--

[Waver lets out a tired sigh. He doesn't like ignorance either.]

--[Waver gives Flora a sidelong glance, you didn't tell me until now!?]

He probably doesn't want to be found.

It's fine, it happens and-- [Waver flaps a hand, tired. He found out, that's all that matters.]

He'd know what the god nonsense is too.

It's all good to know, and it'll click into place eventually. Hopefully it just won't be too late to act on it.

I think you're right, but at least if we come to accept that nothing can be done, we will have known we tried every possible option. That can help a lot when faced with impossibilities.
