1st Circuit - Text for Both Courts, Video-locked for Unseelie

[There's probably a better way to do this, but at least he can put out feelers and see what he's working with. Since the decimation of Caer Scima Hiro's been a little more than bitter toward the Seelie and while he doesn't want to have anything to do with any of them, he realizes that as a scientist he needs to gather as much information as possible.]

It's been a long month, hasn't it? I'm not used to any of this. Monsters? Destroying people's castles? It's weird. I was getting ready for class one day and the next I came here and then the fighting started. I think I'm going to fall really, really behind in my homework.

Makes me wonder…what do you miss most about home? I can't be the only one who really misses advanced tech (computers, video games, even the old stuff like VCRs would be okay at this point.) And I know, I know, the Station exists but it's not the same.

So, what about you guys?

[If he can figure out what people value? Maybe they can use that to their advantage, too.]

[Unseelie Locked]

[Now comes the hard part. With that out of the way the video function of the locket clicks on and it's obvious that the locket's hanging from something in front of Hiro. He's in a room at the Station, ever-recognizable blue hoodie hanging loosely on his frame but the sleeves pushed up to his elbows. More importantly than that? He looks a little nervous.]

…hi. My name is Hiro Hamada. I don't know most of you, but I hope you're listening anyway.

[He pauses and looks to the side, evidently looking at someone else who's in the room with him. Deep breath, Hiro.]

It's not a secret that we lost this battle pretty bad. That's a fact, but I think there's something we can do about it to help recover. I know there are other people that don't know how to really fight, or there are people who can only fight with weapons. What if we could do something more than that?

[Give him a second and he's holding up his hand. It looks as though he might completely freeze up but after a short moment a small fireball appears in the palm of his hand. He wants to put it out immediately, but he pauses long enough to at least look at the locket again.]

I couldn't do this when I first got here. [And the fireball vanishes.] Think about how much stronger we'd be as a court if everybody could wield a couple of spells. Even if it's not something you want to use for offense even picking up a few for defense is better than nothing. I know there're a lot of magic users here but…well, Lemina and I have been working on something pretty cool.

[He's going to lean forward and pick up what looks like a piece of paper with a class list and a list of elemental spells written on it to show the camera.]

The Guild's designed to not only teach people how to unlock their own magic ability but hone it and build up to becoming a better magician. We have a few ideas how to use it to help our side of this war. We're going to start classes soon for anybody who's even kinda curious. [A pause.] Look, I didn't even really believe in magic before I got here and knowing the little bit I learned saved me back there. It'd be really cool if you guys considered it and you can always ask Lemina or me if you have questions.

[Actually…he looks off screen toward where Lemina's sitting.] Maybe we should do that now?

[ooc: This is actually going to be open to both Seelie and Unseelie because of the mage university being started by Tzilan just outside of Redgate. Lemina's been putting up flyers around the Station and Hiro just doesn't realize it and has a very strong bias against the Seelie. As an aside, Lemina will also be teaching classes at said-university on her own, but will be keeping the Guild as something separate. edit: also Lemina might pop into some threads as well!]

[ The question does make him stop, and he considers. Well, it's not as if he has to really think about it; Eren has always been someone who's too curious about the world around him, and there isn't a reason to say no. So: ]

I wouldn't mind.

[Join the club, dude. There's a reason Hiro's going around learning everything he possibly can even if he doesn't like it.]

Sweet. I, uh, think I kinda owe you anyway? You know, from the feast. [And that stupid imp that wouldn't let go.] Consider it repayment.

[ Eren blinks dumbly for a second, that entire moment having been left completely forgotten until just now. ]

It wasn't that big of a deal. [ Just another day, another stupid imp. But— ] But if you say so. That mean you're willing to explain more?

[zerotohiro]

[Jeeze Eren don't make this awkward, it was kind of a big deal considering Hiro's never dealt with imps before. But he plays it off because it's whatever. That's not the point here.] Sure, why not? Maybe if I start explaining it to somebody else I can figure out why it only seems to work out here and not anywhere else in this stupid world.

I guess it depends on when you wanna start learning.

[ For obvious reasons, Eren has even less of a clue than he does, and offers as much with a lazy, uncommitted shrug of a shoulder. Who can say, but it isn't as if he has any real complaints about it, either. To Eren, the Drabwurld has a lot more than his own homeworld could offer.

But enough of that. He's heard (and seen, during his brief visits to the Station) enough of this "advanced tech" business that he'd rather know sooner instead of later. ]

Whenever. I can make room for it.

[zerotohiro]

I've been hanging around here lately. [And the camera moves to show that out the door of the room he's in is the main portion of the Station.] It's kind of like a second home at this point. Just come by whenever.

[There's a pause.] Wait if that's true then what else have you been doing since the battle finished? [Eren if you say you've been bored, too, he's going to just assume that he needs to wrangle you into the Guild as well.]

[andallbite]

[ Quite the opposite, if anything. 'Eren' and 'sitting still' are two phrases that don't belong in the same sentence. ]

Lending a hand around here. [ Caer Scima, he means, or what's left of it, anyway. ] There's still a lot of work that's gotta be done.

[zerotohiro]

[Good. You're his kind of people Mr. Yeager.]

I haven't been out there since the jabberwock escaped. Just how bad is the damage? Is anything left?

[andallbite]

A little.

[ And he really only means a little. ]

Barely any of the structure's still intact. It's mostly just a pile of rocks.

[zerotohiro]

You heard about that guy who's collecting memories to rebuild the castle, right? It's a start but there's gotta be something else we can do to rebuild it faster.

[...it's entirely possible that he's thinking of taking on another project.] ...this is going to sound weird, but think you could bring me one of those rocks?

[andallbite]

[ Eren frowns a touch in thought, shaking his head a little. He's been preoccupied enough in the past week that he's barely touched his locket, but that idea alone is... weird. How the hell could memories be used to rebuild a castle?

(How the hell do most things here work, really.)

But, that aside. Rebuilding anything takes time, but could they make progress to faster? Perhaps, hopefully. Hiro seems to have an idea, at least. ]

Just—any rock?

[zerotohiro]

[He's not even sure how it all works, and even though Harry said it was "magic" it's not a kind of magic he's familiar with. (Granted he's not familiar with most types of magic yet, but that's besides the point.) He sees the look though and continues the explanation.]

I guess the queen asked for his help gathering a bunch of our memories to build a better defense for Caer Scima. I don't know how he's going to do it but that's gotta mean there's something in the structure itself. Any rock'll work. I just want to crack it open and check it out.

[andallbite]

[ Uh... Huh. The connection is still lost on him, but he can't argue it. There's already been enough weird shit going down that it's probably plenty plausible. ]

Alright, I can do that. How soon do you want it?

[zerotohiro]

It's not a huge rush. It's not like the fairy rings are going to break or anything so I can come back here whenever I need to. [Yes, he is just assuming that Eren'll bring it with him whenever he wants Hiro to start giving him the rundown on technological history.] Plus it's a rock. I don't think it's going to go anywhere anytime soon either.

[andallbite]

No, not really.

[ He pauses, thinking again, then— ]

Give me a day or two. I'll bring it over.

[zerotohiro]

Sounds good to me. If I'm not here just call or ask around for Hiro. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one with my name around here.

[andallbite]

The locket'll save us time. [ With the station being a big place and all. ] I'll let you know when I'm there.

[zerotohiro]

[And now...to figure out what to do with the rock once he gets it.]
