By now I think everyone knows that the monarchs are asking us to run after the Jabberwock to try and return it back to them. We know that it responds to touch, that it likes puzzles, and that lavender will help soothe it.

But there are problems with what we’ve been told that need to be solved now.

1. It’s the middle of winter. We need sources of lavender, and I do not imagine that this will be easy. If anyone knows where to begin, and can say so on an open post here, you’d be doing everyone a great favour.
2. The Jabberwock isn’t small. Making puzzles that will be the right sie will be a struggle. Thoughts on how to go about that are welcome. I’m not imagining that it is going to be possible to walk up to this thing and ask it why did the chicken cross the road?
3. Touch. If this thing’s aura of rot is as true as old accounts have presented it, we need to find ways to deal with that. Quickly.

I’m encouraging brainstorming on this network post because anything that can be thought up together will have a greater chance of working.

What's so special about us? Is it the shards? How can we change so much when the monarchs have been waging this war for hundreds, thousands of years? And as for their anger... Well, I can certainly understand it. We are foreigners in another land, changing what they have known to be normal for so long, and this is not even our home. I would be distraught were it my home to say the least.

You needn't do it alone, you know.

It is the shards, yes, and the energy within them. They're like...hm. I feel like the best way to put this is that you can think of each court as an ocean, waves crashing. Those are the monarchs. Shardbearer actions are if you chuck a stone into the ocean, and watch the ripples. You might knock into something and make a sizeable difference, but it is the monarchs that erode at the beach and change the landscape.

Exactly so as far as the locals go, and with things churning apace, that anger is even more justified. And worse yet, you can't counter the arguments, because individually you're fine, but on a whole? Shardbearers are a massive problem.

If that's a genuine offer, then we best speak face to face when all is said and done.

And the more shardbearers one court has, the stronger the ripples; when one court loses their shards and shardbearers, the smaller the impacts are on the world beyond the court. I suppose it would be too much to hope that the monarchs could fight each other and leave the rest of the Drabwurld out of it.

It will be difficult to gain their trust, even if we try to help them in the aftermath. But I hope some will be open to our efforts.

Precisely so with the ripple analogy. As for the monarchs just doing this themselves, I have a feeling that there's more checks and barriers in place that prevent them from doing so than anyone's aware of.

I have a feeling that it'll have to begin when we see what areas are the easiest to deal with, and if rumour can spread. But all of this has to wait until this fight ends, which is the most frustrating chorus.
