Video, open to both courts
[In the locket image, young Edgar can be seen standing between a beautiful pair of clegs. The larger one nudges his shoulder rather insistently.]
Easy there, Ravensong. It's all right.
[He looks back into the locket, trying not to look too sheepish. He is a baron, now, after all.]
So, it seems I've been given this wonderful pair. [The smaller one sniffs inquisitively at the hood of his cloak.] ...Duskwhisper, don't. [Back at the camera.] But they don't seem to be terribly fond of being ridden bareback. Would anyone be able to recommend where I might find saddles for them? I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.

They're lovely. Clegs, are they? Ravensong and Duskwhisper are good names as well.
Most men only have one beast to mount, but you have two. Why is that?

Thank you. And yes, so I'm told! When the fairies came, I just asked for a way to survey the lands around my spire, and I received these two in response. I'm told they're a breeding pair.

Wasn't that generous of them? The token of your spire could be beasts at this rate.
I know nothing of saddles, but if they give you trouble, I know of individuals who can tame any beast to ride. They just might need the training more than anything else.

But I'm not worried about their training so much as I don't think they find it very comfortable.

[ Yeah, why was he even trying to in the first place? ]
Do you think they would be happier with saddles? What if they aren't?
What if they just refuse to ride and prefer to breed as they were intended?

Ravensong is getting used to me, so I don't think he'll much mind me riding him either way. But Duskwhisper is more likely to carry other people who might not be used to that kind of thing.
I don't intend to overwork them. I want them to be happy here.

I'd not risk trying to ride one bareback in flight, though. Is there a reason you were given two?
no subject
They're mates, these two. A breeding pair. I suppose they wouldn't have liked being separated from each other.
no subject
Do they form pairs like that, then? What do you intend to do with them in your care?
no subject
These two have. I'm not yet sure if that's normal, but I don't see why not. I intend to care for them as best as I can. I asked for ways to survey my lands, and this was the response, so they will be ridden, the both of them. But, otherwise, I hope to keep them happy. I'm sure they'll breed at various points.

[ Maglor tips his head to look at them ]
Have you had much success in finding them tack?
private video
And, no, not yet. Do you know where I could find some?
private video
Mm, you could always try the stables at castle. Or you might ask the imps, I suppose, although that is risky.

I'm sure I'll have to visit to touch base with General Saber or Queen Morla as it is. Next time I'm there, I'll ask about it.

[ There and gone again, pain and memory flash across his eyes and Maglor nods, slowly ]
I ... have been in such positions yes. But my... history warns that my choices often go ill, Edgar. I do not know if you dare to trust to me.
