I see. They mostly play with toy boats, in my world.

We have those too! And toy animals, other than ducks. Usually octopuses, fish or whales.

Oh, I am quite fond of whales. There are fewer of those sorts of toys for children, save for the whales -- and those usually play the role of monster.

Most children I know picked whales over octopuses. Those were the monsters; whales were just fun.

[ why would a whale be a monster??? ]

I suppose whaling is not a common profession in your world?

Not as much as it used to be, no. Some species are going extinct so there are quite a few laws banning whaling in order to protect them.

I do wonder if my world will get to that point. A scientist recently put forth findings on whales, that they have families; he was all but laughed to ruin.

They do not understand that when struck, whales are intelligent enough to strike back.

Most people underestimate the intelligence of animals, whale or otherwise. That's why they think I'm mental when I say I trust my cat when it comes to people.

Most people are terribly unintelligent and boring.

I have two dogs, in the Drabwurld; a breed from my world. Very smart beasts. People in my world relied on them when it came to judging other people as well.

A lot of people don't have a chance to prove themselves, though.

I have a dog too. A Simarg, named Padfoot. He's very clever too but he can be a bit of a pain.

I see everything, in my world.

They are! Winged and a little bit sneaky.

I have had four thousand years to get used to it.

Not particularly. Not in my own world, at least. Here, I have... considered the idea.

Well, I can definitely recommend it. Especially if you need a few hours peace from people being... People.

If I start, I may never wake up.

Maybe it would be better not to risk it, then. Even if you set an alarm?

I suppose I could ask to be awoken after a set amount of time.

As long as you're sure you would actually wake up when they tried?
