[ The message that comes across the network is abrupt, as though the sender thought about sending it and simply did with no further thought. ]
I wish to learn more of the magic of your worlds, of this world. Not only how it works but how to use it.
I can offer a trade, should you require it.
[ After a moment, there's an addendum: ]
If you do not wish to discuss such things over the lockets, dedicate a shrine to the Outsider. I will know. We will speak there.

action?
four cans of mad bull work as the legs for the shrine, holding up a big piece of bark that got shucked off of some dead tree, with nails awkwardly rammed through them to keep it all in place. in the curved scoop of the bark, there's a cute little collection of stuff. some neat looking rocks, a broken arrow head... and a couple packets of wasabi paste. the main attraction, however, is the giant worm tooth the size of a grown man's face upright and leaning against the tree, a string tied around it, with several small paper shide hung from it, like lightning bolts agianst the white bone.
it's pretty great, right?
anyway, here's junpei, trying the thing out! ]
Hey, uh — Outsider, dude. I made you a thing, wasabi and everything. Come check it out.
action!
When the Outsider arrives, everything but the shrine and the two of them seems to melt away; they're unimportant. If anyone were to interrupt, they'd miss the entire conversation; all they would see would be Junpei looking momentarily dazed, no matter how long the two speak. It is, the Outsider thinks, a terribly effective way to share secrets.
Excuse him while he examines the worm tooth. ]
What is this?
action...
Giant worm tooth. There's a bunch of them out here, they keep trying to eat workers so my friend and I are working on killing them, but this one's the only one that our varren hasn't chewed on.
[ tiny pause. ] The shide is just to make it official and shriney.
action...
I see. I wonder if they could perhaps be deterred instead of killed... they would certainly keep intruders away.
[ Giant worms = whales of the desert. Clearly. ]
That is the paper?
action.
[ and yukari wants to sell those... so... ]
Yep!
action.
[ Examining it more closely... ]
A tradition of your world?
action.
An' shide are supposed to help the um, spirit in the thing you put it on stay in there. I think. [ he laughs, and folds his hands up beside his head, or at least his mental image of himself does. (does his mental image project himself as taller than he actually is if he's like, I WANNA BE TALL?) ] I mean, it's not really my jam.
action.
waaaaiiiiit for it
okay now: ]
It is not your... preserved fruit spread?
action.
action.
As in... music?
action.
[ that was supposed to be the imperial march. ]
action.
Could theme music be whale song?
[ dear god who let these two meet ]
action.
action.
action.
[ because if that's the case, he speaks whale... ]
action.
action.
action.
action.
action.
[ The rest he understands. Stories, music as they have in a play, fight scenes... ]
action.
action.
Re: action.
[ the next one is going to be made out of instant ramen cups, hell yeah ]
action.
[ with the ramen still inside? ]
