[Anyone who knows Lancelot will likely as not be immediately surprise that he is sending any kind of message that is written. It is hardly one of his strengths. Still, the message is short, and this way devoid of emotion. Which is best, considering the topic. ]

For those who knew him Faolan is no longer with us.

He sacrificed himself for the sake of a friend.

So far as I understand he will be returned, in some days, by the power of the courts.

He will need space and kindness.

Lancelot.

[ perhaps she's panicked. Faolan is a good man, a friend and to think - no, it cannot be true. she had thought, she had naively and honestly thought a battle can be avoided and now -

but lancelot - ]

Are you safe? where are you?

[ She's just browsing through the lockets on her downtime, after just caring for the horses, so she is supposed to be in a good mood. But this? This is something that she can't ignore out of the sake of her curiosity and, notably, horror. ]

Sir, you have my deepest sympathies. But, pray tell, what do you mean return in a few days time?

[ She distinctly remembers the first thing she was told on arriving in Caer Scima that Feanor, himself, explained he was dead. Only through that small irrational thought process Alice wonders if anyone recently dead could also come back into Drabwurld.

Drabwurld also has a very good way of fooling or confusing one's self, too. ]

Master Faolan is...

Ai. I... am sorry. I thank you for bearing your grief enough to tell us. Can I... trouble you to bear him a message? When... he returns. Tell him Maglor wishes him well.

[ she did not know this man but she worries for her friend.]

Sir Lancelot, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your friend.

I had my doubts of him, lord marshall, being an Unseelie in your service. Such honor is rare seen in men, and I'm glad to be shamed of my suspicions.

I'll speak to what other men-at-arms who knew him, and see that we hold a white candle vigil for his spirit while it rests in death.

[ Lancelot can hardly hide from Guinevere. He would have no wish to, regardless. He's pale, drawn, tiredness colouring his features. ]

I was returned to Caer Glaem late last night. Forgive me if I worried you, I am safe. Faolan made sure of that.

The monarchs hold the power to heal and renew us. I asked that Faolan be returned. He may not have been of my court, but he was a loyal friend. He deserves another chance.

[ The name and voice is not one he recognises, yet Lancelot is well aware that Faolan would have had friends he did not know. Would have known many before him.

His voice is tired, heavy with grief. ]

I will tell him. I intend to do my best to be here when he is returned. I doubt the experience will be pleasant for him.

Lancelot.

[ her voice turns from hysterically worried to another, deeper, shade of concern. there is sympathy there too, of course. the sort of a quiet familiarity with loss and she bites her lip, a overly familiar, nervous gesture. ]

May I come to see you?

[ Mithian's gentle voice is somehow something that twists pain further into him. She is sorry for a friend she never knew being gone, and Lancelot finds himself equally sorry she never met him. ]

Thank you. He was a good man. I think you'd like him, Lady Mithian.

[ He only hopes this works. That she still has the chance. ]

[ she wants to ask how is it possible to cheat death but she thinks that perhaps now is not the time for such questions. not when he has lost a friend.]

Is there anything I may do? To help in any way? [ she pauses.] Are you alright?

[ For a moment, all Lancelot can feel is a spike of anger that Tarz ever doubted him. That he would dare to mention such a thing now, all things considered.

Yet it fades, as he continues, as he offers a vigil, and by the time he speaks Lancelot just sounds exhausted again. ]

Thank you, Tarz. I would appreciate it.

[ A pause, heavy with all his unshed grief, because he allows himself something more honest. ]

He could have saved himself. He chose to save me instead. I do not know how I can ever repay such a debt.

[ His eyes flit away at her concern and he nods silent assent. Part of him has no wish to worry her, yet she is worried already.

He could use the comfort. Lancelot knows that. It is selfish, but Guinevere -- she has always been strong. ]

Second wing of the keep, three quarters of the way along. Ebony doors with golden runes, two guards outside.

[ His rooms, that is. They're relatively hard to miss. A pause, before he adds quietly: ]

Thank you.

... Take heart, lord marshall. He wouldn't have given so greatly if you hadn't been worthy. Shrewd man, he was.

And trust in yourself, to take care of your own.

[There's a very quiet gasp of "gods--" and the locket doesn't show much. A few strands of her hair, mostly, she can't bear to look at the words again. After a silence, she speaks.]

He was kind even to strangers. I will pray for him.

I'm--

[There's silence and then a flash of her face, full of a muted grief.] May The Crone watch over and preserve him until his return.

I am on my way.

[ she washes her hands and hurries to wrap a cloak around her shoulders. she is wearing the very dress she had arrived in and perhaps it is an odd comfort as it feels like home. she walks the corridors as he instructed, coming up until the guards and nervously staring at them. ]

I - was invited.

I am sure it will not. [ It was not for me agrees Celegorm ] I am... I am sorry. I cannot say I am glad he must be woken to walk again in this world, not under such circumstances as we find ourselves. I would rather him home and safe and beyond the reach of all harm here. But I am glad he will have a friend beside him when he does.

An Unseelie? What happened to him?

Jeepers. He is just not having a good month, huh. You really think he'll come back from the dead though?

Let's be honest, he was kind of an asswipe.

Have you seen the healers since you returned?

[ Is he all right?

Lancelot is not sure he is, honestly. ]

I have lost people before, Lady Mithian, yet it never becomes easier.

I am of the belief that it should not get easier. It would only mean that one's heart has grown hard.

I will do my best, and hope that is enough.

Faolan did not think himself a good man, but he was. He is. He will be. We will hold a vigil for him, if you wish to attend.
