I -- [ hmm. sansa presses her lips together and wonders (briefly) whether it is a foolish request in the face of war. and yet she pursues it for an honourable cause. she wishes to gather certain tales for certain purposes. ] I want to hear stories. Stories of grand adventures undertaken by brave Seelie heroes. I cannot be the only one who's struck by such curiousity. Please -- share what you've learned.

[ and for every legend well-told and well-lauded she will make a point to include it within a very...pointed celebration in treun. perhaps encouraging even the shardless to think upon the bright bold tales of the seelie court will further endear that court to their hearts. it's a little like letting the right song be played at the right moment, falling upon the right ears. she wants to inspire treun -- or else certain parts of it -- to think more kindly on caer glaem. and she needs fellow shardbearers to help her. ] Tell me of the Seelie court's fabled champions and its well-mourned martyrs. What have you heard recounted by the hearth-side? Whispered on the road? Stories even the natives have told for centuries, mayhaps.

( BOTH COURTS )

[ some hours later in the day an 'accidental' feed broadcasts. it consists of the locket falling open and catching sight of a pile of books. sounds of rustling. a cleared throat. and at long last a mild: ] Seven have mercy. What a troublesome thing you are and how -- [ sansa addresses the locket she had flipped open on purpose, pretending to be clumsy. this is a quiet way in which to invite conversation with those she might not otherwise feel brave enough to seek out -- unseelie friends, soon separated from her by a roiling oncoming war. ] -- How stupid of me.

[ a novice ruse! however, she has such an earnest and gentle face it might just be worth believing by most, if not by all. ]

[ quite the opposite! though she doesn't dare say. sansa has placed a great deal of trust in waver -- quiet and private trust that she does not speak aloud. but she wonders whether his employment there means that waver approves of him.

Only I hadn't known I'd been speaking with a member of its staff when we met. It seems misunderstandings were made all 'round.

It's alright, we both didn't know better during that conversation, to be honest.

[ Because he was being a dumb dork during that whole thing tbh. ]

It is a very fine place. Not at all what I'd been expecting.

[ she's been expecting a...tavern. ]

With a name like that, it's only normal to expect something different when you first hear of it, to be honest.

[ don't worry he was like that too at the start. ]

I attempted to explain so to the proprietor. [ soft. hesitant. ] And yet I suspect he had his reasons for naming it as he did, all the same.

[ Shirou nods. Well, Waver's kind of unique compared to all the mages he's known in his own world too, so he can't exactly glean into his mind for these kind of answers. ]

I'll let you know if he ever divulges such an information to me.

-- Is he a private man?

Nah, he just looks intimidating, but he's a really nice person once you get to know him.

[ ... ]

And yeah, he's quite open, to be honest.

Have you known him long?

For a few months, yes, and he's a close acquaintance of my... [ ...there's a pause as he tries to find the right word to describe Rin. ]

Teacher. And well, it's only natural to trust an ally of your closest mentor, right?

-- Quite natural. [ she betrays no notion that she might feel very...differently about such a nature. ]

However: a few months? [ months. months. those are turns of the moon -- she's learned this word. ] Had you not met him before you both came to these lands?

We met in passing a few times back within my world, but at that point neither of us knew each other.

[ He scratches the back of his head. ]

But apparently for him, he's been acquainted with my teacher for years despite my teacher having only met him a few times back home.

[ time differences, it's confusing. ]

These things can be...complicated. The tangles and rifts in time -- memories -- experiences.

[ she knows them all too well, sadly. ]

I agree, but I suppose that's one quirk of this place. Keeps things interesting for the monarchs, probably.

[ he says that in a sort of annoyed voice, as if displeased about it. ]

As though we are entertaining stories for their delight. How cruel.

Well, they might as well foster some entertainment while trying to survive this war. Or they think that pulling people at the peak of their power more preferable than keeping them from being from the same point of time.
