[As Remus appears on the locket, he looks a little frumpy and disheveled, but that's rather par for the course, really. He smiles warmly as he opens his mouth to make his address. An address that, it would seem, is coming from the middle of the Caer Glaem library, in the middle of what seems like a good day's worth of research. Research, as the case may be, on the Dwarves of Cothromach and their culture itself. Also, on native defensive magic. Specifically on the subject of defending a structure, spells, charms, rituals to be had during or after the construction of a building. Hell, he's even looking into native hearth magic at this point. Remus is leaving no rock unturned, as far as he can help it.]

Hallo! I apologize for being another to make yet another address like this, but it must be done, and perhaps this one might catch your attention, at the very least?

I recognize that most of you who are planning to take part in this battle are busy training for such an endeavor, and if you are, then I will leave you to it. [There's no way Remus himself is lifting a finger to fight against anyone. Not when there are people he knows - people he loves even - who would be considered the enemy in this fight.] For those of you who are looking for something else to be doing with your time, however, I might have an offer for you.

I need some helping hands. Not for supplies, but for a much grander project. [Perhaps you've seen the beginnings of the White Citadel already? Thanks for that reveal, Hiccup.] Talent in construction is more than welcome, but we'd really just love some able bodies on the job. Away from the fighting, but doing something I'm sure we will all agree is equally as worthwhile with our time. [There's no questioning the fact that he is or at least once was a professor as he continues to clasp his hands together in front of him and asks:] So do I have any volunteers?

Oh! [Another thought comes to him.] Another question, for anyone who's had business in Cothromach. I'd be interested if you could speak to me about the dwarves? I've heard that they're quite handy with such things.

You wish to speak to the native Dwarves or the Shardbearer Dwarves? We're two different sorts.

Ah, I'm sorry for not specifying! The native dwarves of Cothromach is really what I had in mind when I posed the question. But if there are Shardbearer Dwarves who I might be able to work a deal with as well, I'd love to speak to you as well. Are you a representative of either party, sir?

[Behold his pretty manners to try and cover up whatever flub he might have made!]

My cousins and I are Shardbearers. I am Gimli, son of Glóin. There are only three of us, and any deal would have to be agreed upon by all three of us, but what is it you're interested in discussing?

[He tries!]

Forgive me for locking this conversation, I do not want the subject of it falling into the wrong hands. But I have been contracted with finding help to aid in the construction of a citadel. Perhaps you have seen or heard of it already, there was something of a preview of the work already done not that many days ago?

I'm afraid I do not know what you are talking about. I've been busy. What sort of citadel?

Ah, not your fault! It's supposed to be quite hush hush, hence my hesitation to speak without a lock.

We're building a citadel. The initial construction of the structure has already begun. It's intended to be a safehaven away from Caer Glaem itself, a place of defense and home away from home for those of our numbers who find themselves in the area and need sanctuary. [Read: Not a war tower. At least not to his knowledge.]

I see. A noble idea.

[He approves]

And what do you want to discuss with Dwarves?

I'd like to discuss potential contribution to the construction, if they would be so kind as to lend a hand, sir. I can assure you, I have been told any aid will be rewarded.

[He's heard that that sort of thing is important to dwarves.]

Not to mention the completion of such a structure itself would be a reward in and of itself, for shardbearers such as you and I.

Hmm.

[He really doesn't care for the perks being a shardbearer gives him.]

I will have to speak with my cousins, see if they are up for moving after my job with the gates here is up or if they'd rather not.

[Not even if those perks are money, Gimli?]

I can provide you with transportation to and from the city to the site, if it helps ease your decision. I am what you might call a wizard. I hope that you are not opposed to the use of magics?

[A timid smile.]

Not as such. Where is this citadel going to be?

Bordering the edge of Eaglais and the Plains of Cathraon. As I said, construction has already begun. There was a preview of the beginning construction posted, not a few days ago, in addition to the construction of the towers in the north by the Unseelie.

[He nods]

Again, I will discuss it with my cousins.

Forgive me for asking, but. When you say your cousins, are you speaking of the Dwarves native to this land themselves? Or do you have relatives in this place?

[He smiles apologetically.] Forgive my ignorance. I'm still fairly new to this land.

[Gimli snorts]

The Dwarves here are no relation of mine. I speak of my two cousins from home, both in the Keep with me.

[Remus nods, that same apologetic smile clear on his face.]

Again, my apologies. I have been tasked with talking to the Dwarves of Cothromach myself. I had to be certain we were not talking about one and the same.

Please. Speak with your cousins. Let me know what you decide?

Ah. My name is Remus, I should say. Remus Lupin.

[He nods]

Hopefully we shall speak again on this matter, Master Remus.

I will look forward to it, sir.

I'm in Cothromach itself. There is not much going on save for the fortification of its city. I've been laid charge with someone else while it's Lady Keeper is abroad. If there is something I can do, please tell me.

[She might not be able to divert too many supplies away, but the dwarves of Cothromach are hardy workers.]

Forgive me, but might I ask - what do you know of the dwarves in the city? I have been asked to speak to them and contract their aid on this project. I would not want to approach them the wrong way in such a task, however. I would love your advice on the matter, if nothing else?

[A small smile.]

I know they work in the forges and are a strong people. I would suggest coming to them with something to offer them if you can. Though they do seem to like to work. For months they have been refortifying the walls.

[There was a battle a few months back that nearly destroyed them.]

[Remus smiles slightly.]

I have been told as much. And I do have compensation to offer, for their labors. Refortifying the walls, you say? Forgive me, I am only newly arrived...

[Refortifying why? Will they still be tied to such a project even now, he wonders.]

There was a battle at Cothromach a few fortnights back. Morla wished to take my Lady Keeper's city since she refused the proposal to wed. [Which they won, but at a great cost to the city's fortifications.]

Ah. [Remus makes a small noise of understanding.] I take it she wanted her to wed someone of the Unseelie Queen's own choosing which would have turned the city over to her, no doubt.

I'm sorry for my ignorance. As I said, I'm only new, and only just learning the history of this place, both present and past. I take it that the battle was a victory for the Lady Keeper then?

[ well. to say she has business in the cothromach is a bit of an understatement. but she fears what might be wanted.

she begins: ] Are you curious about the Cothromach? Do you want its dwarves for your...grander project?

[ ah. a sticking point. ]

Ah. Forgive me, but yes. As a matter of fact, I do. I have been told that they are excellent workers and craftsmen, and for the project I have been tasked with recruiting for, we are in need of the best.

Are you familiar with them? [Remus looks hopeful. Maybe this will be the break that he needs.]

Familiar with them? Yes. And their work-load. The Cothromach has a great need for its labourers. [ ... ] I have a great need for its labourers.

[Remus takes a moment as everything falls into place, but it does settle, and the realization passes visibly over his features.]

I just seem to keep putting my foot in my mouth in this place, don't I? Forgive me again. Might I be speaking with the Lady Keeper? [Please excuse him, Sansa, he's new, and he's had a lot on his plate this last month, trying to get caught up with everything Harry and Hermione have been up to.]

You are. Lady Sansa of House Stark, ser. May I request the honour of your name?

[He laughs kindly.] It's not exactly an honor, but you may have it nonetheless. My name is Remus. Remus Lupin. ['Wolf Wolf', yes he knows. It's horribly ironic, all things considered.]

When I was inquiring after the dwarves, I did not know that I would attract such attention as yours. But if anyone is qualified to speak as to their nature, it would be you, my Lady. My apologies, but I must insist. I have been asked to contract their services - has anyone spoken to you yet of the White Citadel?

--Do you prefer the formalities? I just realized I should ask, before I just launch into such things. Where is my head, these days.

I do prefer them. Please.

[ a quiet voice. a hesitant voice. she isn't used to people asking. ] And what little I know of the White Citadel has only reached my ears within the last few days. Who has asked you to contract them?

[He's a professor, Sansa. He's used to being attentive to other people's needs, their comfort levels. Used to being attentive to his conversational partner in general, looking for all the things that might be left unsaid, as students are wont to do. Of course he would ask.]

One of the only people with enough authority to make calls on the subject, my lady. [He says, with a soft smile.] That is to say that it was our Seelie Marshall, Sir Lancelot, Knight of the Golden Cadre. I had come to him hoping I might be able to help, in some way. There are...particular talents I possess, you see. [He isn't sure whether he should just come out and tell her he's a wizard. She seems...delicate, in some ways. He does not want to scare her off.] Talents I would rather have put to the use of building up the defenses of such a structure, than using them against my fellow man. If I can help it, that is.

Caer Glaem will pay them. Won't they?

[ her dwarves. she's cost them enough of their profit in the battle. she cannot cost them more. ]

[Remus nods.] Yes, my lady. I have been assured that they will be paid for their efforts. Certainly, they will not be asked to perform such services without adequate compensation.

As for transport. Should they require it, I can provide that as well. I have...particular talents, as I have said before.

Particular talents. [ she is the songbird repeating his words. soft and uncertain. she does not want to ask because he does not outright offer to tell. and yet she is curious. ]

Yes. [She does sound curious, and while he's hesitant to share, the people of this world have been accepting thus far of his abilities. (He certainly won't go sharing the nature of his other condition, at least.)]

I'm, well. A wizard, is what we call it. A magic user. There was a school back home, established to instruct those born with the ability and, well. I was one of the instructors there, so I guess you could say that I'm quite good at it, really. I don't suppose you've met Hermione Granger?

And what if we do best at multitasking and might be able to train and assist you in what you're doing?

[ she remembers you remus and while she can't pretend that she'd prefer to do this instead of fighting or at the very least training— well, a praetor's job doesn't just include fighting. sometimes you get to enjoy the— infrastructure side of things. ]

Or is this offer just for those who'd prefer not to fight?

Train and assist? What sort of training and assistance did you have in mind?

[Remus raises an eyebrow, intrigued, making this conversation private just in case.] Mostly, I'm looking for helping hands at the Citadel. But I see no reason why, if you enjoy multitasking, you cannot do both? There is a fairy ring set up between Caer Glaem and the White Citadel, I am told, or at least there will be shortly?

I meant that I'd train the others to fight like I've already been doing but also assist you. The most training I could do involving this is how to— properly control the large group of people working on it and keeping them on task.

[ She raises her own eyebrow at Remus making the conversation private, but she doesn't comment on it. ] I'm just used to multitasking— so focusing only on one thing has been a bit of a problem. [ She pauses and just stares at Remus before smiling ever so slightly. ] I have a pegasus, While I have no doubt the fairy ring might be a bit faster, I'm not exactly struggling to move around.

[He's just being over-cautious, don't worry about it. Private conversation usually allows his conversational partners to feel more like speaking freely, anyway.]

Well, as I said, I see no reason why you would not be able to do both then. Especially if you have so many options for travel. [A smile.] Have you any idea how you might like to assist, with the Citadel, then? We're not lacking in the need for additional hands, no matter what your skill level is, as I've said.
