[It's that time of year and Vanyel is prone to feeling a little under the weather now and then. His bad habit of training Alshoa in the open, chilly air has given him a bad cough and he's...feeling a little self-conscious. His peacock tendencies haven't completely diminished over time.]
For the time being, I think it best for everyone to give me a wide berth. I've caught something and - [Oh good. More coughing that rattles him to his bones.] I don't wish to waste healing supplies on myself. I'm not nearly that bad off.
[But. But. He sighs, the sound containing a faint wheeze.]
I don't like being bedridden either.

Do not be a fool. You are going to catch lung fever if you do not take care of yourself, and then those healing supplies you are worried about will go to treating it.

What do you suggest I do?

Thyme. Fresh is best, but if you can get it dried, steep it in boiling water for ten minutes and drink a cup. If you'd rather, put it in a bowl of hot water and put a cloth over your head and breathe in the steam. Just from that wheeze of yours I would say do both. Licorice root will also work, but be careful with that one. Eat foods rich with garlic and if you can get elderberries in this season, have a few. It is not much, but it should help you clear your chest and spare the supplies.
And you would do well to get at least some bed rest. Not for the rest itself though that will not harm you any, but keep warm. Cold is the worst thing to do to your lungs.

Thyme, Licorice root, Garlic and Elderberries. Understood, thank you. [He clears his throat and his voice drops. Which sounds strange because his voice is already deep.] I guess you are a Healer?

A herald? Ah, someone who delivers the king's word? That would be a useful skill to have in such a profession.

[She thinks back to how she showed Rin, and takes a small breath.]
You focus on the herb you are infusing, and the water. Ignore all else but that and what you wish for the end result. Add the herb to the water, and then reach out and ask the herb and the water to change itself. You can never force it, but you can ask the essence of each to work together to create that which you hold in your head.
[She bites her lower lip with uncertainty, her face turning a bit pink.]
Does that... make sense? If it works, it will be very powerful compared to a simple tisane.

As she speaks, his pen scratches over a piece of parchment paper.]
There are Elementals in my world. They have often interested me. The way you make this infusion reminds me of how to potentially contact them.

I'd rather it go to someone weaker than me.
