[For anyone familiar with any semblance of the Wildcats, the pose Ryan and Kelsi are in is incredibly familiar, with Kelsi behind a large piano in the Seelie palace, comfortable and smiling, even if her hair is incredibly messed up and she’s in the equivalent of her pyjamas, glasses haphazardly perched on her face as she slapped them on in a hurry.]

I didn’t know there was actually a piano here--must be left over from a shardbearer, right?

[Occasionally the camera rocks back and forth as if whoever’s holding Kelsi’s locket is spinning it, but eventually it settles and Ryan answers as his free hand comes down to walk his fingers along the keys.]

Probably. Maybe you should just consider it a Christmas present?

Oh, yeah. I missed Christmas. [ She sounds nonchalant, of course, but anyone who actually spends two minutes with her can probably recognize she’s a little bummed about literally sleeping through her world’s celebration period. Good job, Kels. ] Hey--your locket? [ But she looks incredibly at home, hands already finding their place among the ivory keys. ]

[There’s a hum like Ryan’s not really paying attention, tone light when he speaks.]

Can’t remember if this one’s mine or yours. I kinda threw everything into one bag when we left the infirmary. But if you’re asking what I think you’re asking, the answer’s yes. [The chipper grin is practically visible just from the tone. He knows Kelsi is going to pick up on the implications immediately. He’s pulling her into the spotlight whether she wants it or not. Sorry.] ...hey. Know what we both missed this year? Christmas movie night.

I missed Peanuts! [Her lips turn downward, and it’s hard to tell if it’s a thoughtful pause or just her pouting before she starts playing one of her favourite tunes. It’s a little selfish of her not to play the main theme, but it was always the most fun to play. She looks up at Ryan while she plays, fingers gliding expertly across the keys like skates on ice.] Well, since you’re recording... I guess this is a little East High spirit for Drabwurld? This is something we do every year around this time, play and listen and watch stuff like this, so… Oh.

[She blinks.] I guess this is my belated present to you guys.

[Of course he’s recording, and it’s why the camera’s solely on Kelsi even as he talks.] Music’s kinda like the gift that keeps on giving, you know? And surprisingly Kelsi knows more than one song. [Is he teasing her? Yes he is.] Anyway she’ll be more than happy to take requests, too, won’t you, Kels?

If I can play it! [She’s still tapping away at the keys.] I know a lot more classical music, but I’m good with pop songs, too.

You’re good with a lot of things. [He’s just scolding her lightly as though they’re used to having this conversation, arguing about Kelsi’s skill level.] Guess now’s as good a time as any for musical education.

[ ooc: pink is kelsi, blue is ryan--responses will mostly come from kelsi, but ryan may threadjack! ]

Really? Can--Can Ryan do an interpretive dance, maybe?

If he likes! I will admit that I have never seen 'interpretive dance' before - I would be honored if he thought our tales were worth his talents.

I don't see why not. [Hello Maglor Ryan's just going to jump on in here to talk about things.] The tales about the stars you were telling me seemed interesting enough. I wouldn't mind hearing about other things.

Hello Ryan. [ Have a smile and a totally unconcerned elf ] Well, if you liked them, then I mind not the telling.

Definitely! Kelsi and I are always looking for new stories...it's sort of our thing. They're more interesting than some of ours.

[ A soft chuckle ]

Well, I suppose when one lives long enough one has plenty of tales to draw from. I would be honored, Ryan.

[ Correction: after Ryan drags Kelsi out of bed (or off of the piano if she's been up all night) and forces her to contort like a circus acrobat. ]

Whenever it suits you both. But if you wish to do it in person... then, mm, the Barrel or the Station would be the safest places, and I move swiftest by moonlight.

I say the station. It reminds me more of home--ooh, Maglor! Have you ever had a latte?

Your home is like the Station? [ He blinks at Kelsi curiously ]

A... latte? No, Kelsi - what is it?

It's like a cup with coffee and milk and sugar and sometimes people put pumpkin and peppermint in them, and it's frothy and really good, and sometimes where's even whipped cream on it, if you're feeling really fancy, and--

[ Wait, hang on, she has to answer the first question. ]

Yeah, except the buildings at home are REALLY tall, and there's a lot more people.

[ He smiles a little, charmed and bemused by her enthusiasm ]

Easy easy! I do not know what coffee is either, Kelsi - a drink of some sort, I assume! You can make me one when we see each other, hm? Your world sounds fascinating and I would love to see it, I think.

It's a magical elixir that gives all college students a breath and life and special powers like staying awake through incredibly boring lectures. [The tone is just on the edge of laughing though.]

We can probably just get someone to make them for us. [Because why do something for yourself when someone else can do it for you?] There's a lot about our world that can only be explained at the Station.

[ His eyes laugh in return but his voice stays utterly serious ]

Ah, truly? Such a marvelous creation that! Truly, it must be a drink of the Powers.

Well, you could I suppose, if you dare to trust the imps and fairies to your food and drink! [ because no really, would you? ] Then you will have to explain as much as you can when we are there.

Are you sure? I mean, it's really boring compared to where you live, I bet! There's no magic.

Oh Kelsi, [ He says with gentle amusement ] No world or story is ever boring - it is simply different. I would love you hear your tales, simply because it is something I have never known.

Gosh--well, we'll try our best. Maybe we can tell you the story of how all the Wildcats got together?

It's kind of a really weird story, actually. [But it's obvious it's one he's fond of.] I'm pretty sure it's unlike anything else you've ever heard of.

And who or what are the Wildcats? [ Maglor tips his head with a smile ] Then I am sure I will enjoy the tale.

The wildcats are-- Oh, wait. [ Kelsi's feeling a little brave, maybe. Or maybe she's just getting comfortable with Maglor. Plus, Ryan's in the room, so she can't help the grin. ] --what kind of Bard would I be if you just got the cliffnotes? You want to hear the whole story, I'll trade you at the station for one of yours. Sound fair?

It sounds eminently fair, Kelsi. [ He smiles back ] Will Ryan come as well?

I guess I can clear out some time in my busy schedule to come along. [It's clear he's just joking though. Like he'd pass something like this up.] Say the word and we're there.

[ Maglor smiles at both of them, bright and genuine ]

Then I think whenever it suits the two of you is best. I can travel anywhere I have been after the moon rises, so going to any location is easy. At need I can come and fetch you as well.
