Making himself known to the entire network... showing his face on a recorded device... he's not supposed to, and it's just a bad idea for an assassin but...

[He swallows, his gaze flickering off to the side, where, unseen to the camera, Steve is nodding and giving him a thumbs up.]

I'm... Bucky.

[He hesitates when he says it, because... it's the first time he's said it. That he can remember.]

I was told I've been here before, but I don't remember.

[He frowns.]

So I'm sorry. If you knew me before. I don't remember you.

[He glances over to the side again, shifts, shakes his head. He's done, he doesn't want to do this anymore.]

[His brow furrows.]

I suppose.

[It's one explanation.]

Bolin. Nice to meet you, by the way. [ He offers a short wave and a shrug. ] Welcome back to the world even if you don't really remember it, Bucky. Who knows, maybe the second time's gonna be the charm! You know, more friends, more explanations, cooler first impressions.

[He nods once, swallowing slightly.]

No problem. Believe me, if there's one thing I understand, it's that you really have to find the bright side to being confused early. Otherwise you get this whole negative tone thing happening. And that's always a real tough one to shake.

[He's quiet for a moment, then lets out a short huff of a sigh and a slight, one-shouldered shrug.]

Got other things to worry about.

[Like the rampant amnesia. And the arm not working. And the head full of conditioning that he has no idea how to move past. All that.]

Okay, sure, yeah. Other things. Just try to keep your other other things up there, too! I hear a lot of good things about balance these days.

Great! [ People almost never note stuff that he says. Kinda nice. ] I think that's gonna work out for you. Or I hope it does, anyway. Things usually have a way of ending up okay eventually. Even if it takes some time and some... amnesia.

[ Korra seemed okay after her amnesia thing back home, at least. ]

[He's quiet for a long moment, considering this. Finally, he nods.]

[It's... oddly considerate for a stranger to say.

Okay. I'll let you get back to refamiliarizing with people? That'll probably be a pretty big deal for you. [ This week on "bolin talks like he totally knows what he's doing..." ]
