[Pissed would be an understatement for what it is that Leia Organa currently feels. But, a lifetime of training and lack of visible irritants leaves her at least looking calm. She's been here long enough to have watched the goings-on through the strange little lockets and her quiet observations to get a feel for the place, mostly. And she feels confident enough to address the other residents of the strange world.]

I would like to thank our hosts for the lovely accommodations and food. Also, the change of clothes left in the closet of my new room fit perfectly.

However, the minor detail of being taken against my will to fight in a war I understand nothing about against others in a similar situation as myself hardly sits well with me. And from what I can tell from my observations, many others feel the same way. Sitting here and berating the rulers of both courts seems like a true waste of time, and so does demanding that I be returned to my own world, despite what important things I am needed for.

If you think that I will just lay down and accept this as a permanent situation, you are sadly mistaken. I won't fight for your cause because you think I must. I will fight against this form of...slavery with every drop of blood in my body.

To those like-minded, know that I will ally with you, no matter what "court" you happen to be a member of at present.

No, it is not how kings operate. It is how tyrants conduct their affairs. So far, both courts are equally culpable.

Tyrants... Kings... [Castle moves his hands up and down in 'same difference' manner.] I agree they're both culpable. I like the court I live at better than the other one purely for aesthetic reasons. I'm not going to kill someone in the other court because they have a shard. I mean, what the hell?

But sometimes you have to play the game. Doing what they ask you to do, within reason, earns you recognition here. And being on the good side of the courts is better than being on the bad side, if you ask me.

Tyrants and kings are not the same thing, sir. [And she's a little offended that you would even suggest such a thing.] I have seen elected officials turn into tyrants once power has been placed into their hands. Kings can be tyrants, true enough, but it is a person's heart that determines how they wield their power and the responsibility that comes along with it.

I will take your...advice...under consideration. However, I don't see myself killing anyone in their stupid power struggle with no end in sight.

Oh, elected officials can be tyrants for sure. Definitely not disputing that. I take it from your defense of royals that you happen to be one yourself?

I don't plan on killing anyone either unless they try to kill me first. I agree that their war is pointless. I'm just careful who I share that opinion with.

No, my interests merely lay in helping the people of my galaxy regain their rights to choose their fates. Honestly, on my planet, my mother's reign was benevolent, serving our people selflessly and teaching me to do the same. My father was senator in the Imperial Senate, helping as many as he could to retain the small freedoms that many take for granted. However, a constitutional monarchy sounds interesting. Are they fairly common on your world?

Somewhat common. There are a few notable ones in different countries on my planet. [She's talking galaxies and planets so he assumes she's not from where he is.] My country has no monarchy, only legislators and a president elected by the people.

I write murder mystery novels.

[No, they really aren't the same thing, but she does enjoy learning about different things. And this is definitely more up her alley than yelling about things she can't yet change.]

So, the people of your country elect their representatives and their president. There are planets in my galaxy that do that, but the greater form of government is the Imperial Senate.

[She raises a slight eyebrow at his answer to her question. What she was expecting to say, she's not sure. She loves to read, it's true, but her life has been far too busy for her to actually sit down and read anything that wasn't a memo or a report generated for her approval for a very long time. Perhaps longer than she'd like to admit to anyone.]

And do you do well?

Very, yes.

I'm sure that's impressive, but I haven't had the chance to read anything that wasn't related to my job in many years now.

Perhaps if we're lucky, you might find time to write something more worth reading than what the library affords us.

Seems as though you might have a bit of free time on your hands now, though it's a pity that my books aren't in the library here. I agree that they would improve the quality of the library wholeheartedly.

Yes, I believe that I do have some free time on hand. There's just a question of what do I do to fill it up.
