1st Hope {Video} Both Courts
[It takes a moment, given these things are a little different from a phone, but Snow figures it out, thanks in part to some memories as Mary Margaret. She peers at the locket, a slight frown initially as she hopes it is working, brushing some long dark strands behind her ear in some small hope of looking presentable. If her trademark dark locks, bright red lips and pale skin invoke any sort of familiarity, well. They're supposed to. Though she may not necessarily be the Snow White from the fairytales in the most traditional sense.]
Right. I assume....this is working now. So. For those I haven't yet met, I'm Snow White, in the Seelie Court. And I've got a--no, actually quite a few questions since I recently arrived here myself. First and foremost regarding this war. I can hardly decline anyone a hand when they're in need, but if I am to help fight, I'd like more details. How large a conflict is this? Is there to be limited or no access to speak to friends or family that may be in the Unseelie court? I ask because I know if some others from home show up, they won't all be placed in this castle accommodations, from what I gather.
The other thing is I'd like to use this to ask about if there are any weapons around? Unfortunately, I wasn't exactly brought here with my own bow, so if I am to fight and there is no other way around this, I'd like to at least be able to defend myself. And I imagine I'm hardly the only one curious about this hunt.
Of course, there are plenty more questions, but I think for now that covers the main two for now. I'll just end this here and thank everyone in advance for the help.
[Snow purses her lips and her hand moves to end the video, after a little fumbling.]

video;
[Long story.]
An' aye, that would also be one of th' neutral grounds I was talkin' about. My two best friends an' I stayed there a while tae get out from under th' High-Queen's eye. There's also a... [She pauses here, not really understanding the term.] ...coffee? place called th' Barrel. Conflict stopped for Samhain, an' I'm sure it will for Yule as well.
[Merida halts Angus, sliding down from his back with an easy swing over his middle, hopping off.]
My apologies. My name is Merida, firstborn of Clan DunBroch an' daughter of Fergus th' Bear King.
video;
[Oops? Yeah. She is relieved the curse took care of that sort of culture shock when they arrived at Storybrooke. Snow would have been just as clueless if she didn't imagine she was always living there and used to such knowledge.]
The Station? I won't ask why you needed to keep a low profile. But I know how it can be when you....displease royalty, to say the least.
[Wait.]
Coffee? Oh, I didn't even consider the idea of being able to have some. Or hot chocolate. With cinnamon. I'll keep this 'Barrel' in mind, thank you.
[And then belated introductions on the redhead's part.]
So you're a princess. From DunBroch. I take it that's...in Scotland? [Not that she has ever been, never been outside of Storybrooke with the curse, but of course she's vaguely able to recognize the likely home.]
video;
[She tugs at a strand of black hair that stands out among her red, showing how she got caught up in it, then she shakes her head.]
T'wasn't so much about keeping a low profile as it was that we felt like we didn't belong in th' Unseelie ranks. We weren't...comfortable bein' lumped in with their lot. [Merida pauses as she pulls her bow off from where she keeps it up around her bust, looking a little puzzled.]
What's cinnamon? [What was hot chocolate for that matter?] Aye, I come from Scotland, but please just call me Merida. My title doesn't hold much meanin' here, what with High Kings an' Queens an' other royalty.
video;
[Barring the likes of Hook perhaps, at least. Though she can't entirely stifle the light laughter at such an image.]
I see. I imagine you're hardly the only ones that feel like that. I don't necessarily mind this Seelie Court yet, but I don't know nearly quite so much on the situation as you and others that have been here longer to decide for sure just yet.
As for cinnamon, it's like a sort of mild spice? It's usually used with foods like an apple crumble, but I admit to enjoying it with chocolate for some reason. I understand what you mean though. I feel much the same way.
[In other words, yes, Snow is also a fellow princess.]
video;
[Like she's being. Merida tilts her head, knocking in an arrow.]
So it's like rosemary or salt? An'...chocolate is food, right? [Excuse her as she shoots her dinner, Snow, though the last part has her turning her attention back to the locket.] You'll find few who don't, m'lady. There'll be a few here an' there that ask tae be called Lady or th' like, but then there'll be people like you an' me who don't care either way.
video;
[But there's a nod as she considers and answers, not seeming bothered at all that Merida is out hunting while chatting like this. She's used to hunting, used to fending for herself if necessary.]
Hm, I suppose that's one sort of example. And yes, chocolate is a food. A sweet made with cocoa. I'm not sure if I'd say I didn't care about my title, I like that it gives me the opportunity to help my people, but without them here or this being my kingdom, I hardly feel it to be relevant here.
video;
[She pauses momentarily, keeping her eye off the locket and at her surroundings. The string of her bow is pulled back and the arrow flies from her hand, hitting a rabbit offscreen.]
I've never heard of chocolate or cocoa. Th' Romans didn't bring anythin' like that with them when they invaded. [She nods her assertion.] Aye, I feel th' same. That's why I ask everyone call me by my name instead of my title.
[Except for Lancer but he's a special reason.]
video;
[She watches, listening and waiting quietly as Merida shoots, answering after she seems to have caught whatever she was hunting.]
Pity for them. And you. Chocolate is wonderful, though it is best if you don't eat too much of it. I'll check if there is any around here and I could let you try some if so. At least I know I'm not the only one thinking that way regarding titles.
video;
[Merida places a hand on her hip, near her sword as she placed her bow back around her bust.]
I'd love tae at some point. There's probably some at th' Station, I just didn't see any due to th'...microwave shenanigans an' lookin' after a friend of mine who went tae sleep for a week.
video;
[There's a small frown at that though. She's heard mention of the microwave chaos, but sleeping for a whole week.....? Yeah. That reminds her of something she rather forget. Something that three of her four main family members have now gone through. Herself, Charming and Henry.]
Sleeping for a week? But that sounds like the Sleeping Curse. Are they all right now?
video;
[She makes a face at the thought. She couldn't bare to go home only in her sleep only to wake and realise she wasn't there. Merida purses her lips together, then raises an eyebrow.]
Sleepin' Curse? Depends on if ye think only bein' able tae return home in your dreams is a curse or not. Aye, he's fine now, but when he was asleep he, ah, went through some things. We didn't know what was happenin' at th' time so we nearly panicked.
video;
[The Dark Curse and all that entailed. Living out the same day for years, essentially. Not that she realized it at the time. But there's a confusion and relief at hearing that.]
No. I mean, it isn't home you go to under a sleeping curse. There's a room, fire. Nothing like that. I can guess on what you mean though. I think. If he were being hurt back home, it still occurred here? I can imagine that would have been rather scary to see and try to help with.
video;
Yeah. We were moppin' blood off of him for the first day or so, then they kind of stopped bein' so severe. [Merida glances back towards the screen of her locket.] I can only imagine what he would've felt like in a room of fire though. He's a winter spirit.
video;
[Or so she can only guess for now. Snow herself isn't really the resident expert in magic and the like and this is an entirely different situation.]
