( there is a level of quiet calculation to the way lydia addresses the locketed network. she wears not nearly as much makeup. her hair isn't kept in ringlets or curls, nothing fancy, but a simple bun. she seems... slightly detached, from everything, though she's not necessarily detached in an unpleasant way. she's just.. well. she's older. and she holds herself high and with a much more adult strength than previously. )

I slept again. I dreamed of home. Or maybe I lived it, while my body was trapped here. Either way. ( her lips form a thin line, something like a smile but not quite. and there is a certain measure of manipulation glinting just behind her eyes. )

For those of you who know Peter Hale, you should be made aware that anything he tells you about his strength of character is very likely a lie. He is a murderer, and he's the absolute best at the manipulation game. He doesn't care about anyone but himself, and it's very likely that he's using anyone he's pretended to befriend for personal gain. Just when you think you might be able to trust you again, he'll probably try to kill your best friends.

Are you going to tell him everything?

[ about what happened back home, she means. not that Malia's been very strategic about what she's talked to Peter about, but she's definitely kept some stuff from him, knowing it would only piss him off. now she just wants to know if she needs to be keeping her distance or not ]

I wasn't there for everything. But I'm going to use what I know as leverage. He's at full power here, and more dangerous than we could hope to deal with on our own. There's every possibility that I'll be sharing it with him, if I can manage to strike a deal with him about his behavior. ( hi, malia. lydia gives a gentle smile. )

How's fairy world going for you?

Fine. There was a fight. But we won.

[ but she's all fidgety now, in a "I've got a bad feeling about this, Scooby" way. ]

I've been telling him things. [ she hates using this word, but ] --Family things, mostly. He knows he used me to get to Scott. But he doesn't know about Derek. He doesn't know about being stuck in Eichen House. [ and now she's trying to piece together her own thought process for whatever information she gave him. she hadn't really been thinking about trying to manipulate him, or make a deal with him, it was- ] I told him why we won't trust him, but I didn't want to make him mad, not for no reason. Not now that he's- whatever he is.

I've seen what he can turn into. I don't think he's going to be making any deals that would stop him from using it.

I've heard the story, I just don't have the firsthand experience. ( don't worry malia, she's got this. )

He knows Derek and Braeden are after Kate. He'll know about Eichen House eventually... But not yet. The timing isn't right. This is a dangerous game to play with him at full color. I think, however, that he still considers me useful enough that I can take the risk. I'll be all right. ( lydia understands malia's concern, however, and she offers a small smile. )

He's an Alpha. That's how he was when he bit me. I can handle him.

I'm not worried about you. I'm worried about anyone else who might be around when he decides to get mad.

[ it.. makes sense in her head. she's aware Lydia knows how awful Peter can be. but there's really no preparing everyone else for what he can do, especially now that he's got more power than he ever had at home. ]

I don't think we should tell him anything. It's safer not to. For everyone else.

Why do you think I'm trying to warn people? Besides. This place is full of people who are far more powerful than we could ever even hope to be.

( malia's heart, however, is in the right place. it makes lydia proud, as her friend, to see how far she's come. from 'i'd leave her behind' to wanting to help others besides herself and stiles. )

I'll keep the information guarded, then, until we figure something else out. Doesn't mean I can't dangle it in front of him.
