[ when the locket flicks on, it looks as though Teresa might be alone, but her attention moves to her right almost immediately after the video feed starts, like she's wary to have her attention diverted for even a little bit. she's worrying, yes. in a Teresa way. which means she mostly just looks really annoyed. ]
We've all seen the last few transmissions over this network, right? We've all seen it, and we've all been told to be on our guard, but has anyone actually killed one of these things yet? Do we even know how? Or are we expected to swing a sword and hope for the best? [ h u f f ]
[Effy prides herself in everything she does, but if there’s one thing she’s best at, it’s hiding her problems. when Teresa looks off screen, she slides into view with a smile.]
Don’t think swords are going to do much. [if anything.] Got to be another way. Maybe light?
[she arches a brow at Teresa, as though that would be the most helpful (and obvious) solution. they are shadow dogs.]
[ Teresa’s expression doesn’t exactly turn sour, but- ] So... Magic, basically. We should be using magic. [ which she doesn’t have. which obviously bothers her. can’t they just punch these things in the face? she doesn’t mind punching things in the face. especially when they made a point to hurt someone she gives a crap about. ] Okay, let’s work with that, then. We need a plan. With- magic, I guess.
Yes. [she gets it. magic.] Magic. I’m sure someone’s got an idea how to use it. Wizards. Magic users. Anything. The dogs need to go.
[Effy is 100% done with dealing with the dogs, so she really doesn’t want any more contact with them. which is why it’s important someone else deals with it.]
So, who’s ready to make a plan?
(ooc: green is teresa & black is effy! )

Should your actions gain the favor of the monarchs, ask for such powers as a boon. Or, speak to the human woman called Ariadne. She was granted the power to move through shadows.
Video
[after she got over the whole "oh, you destroyed most of the station and also killed some people" bit.]
Dunno about asking them for something like that. Rather stick to things that don't totally fuck with magic.
Video
[He was going to be forever bitter about the primitive state of affairs when it came to the Drabwurld. At least he was half an inch closer to accepting magic as an explanation than when he'd first come here.]
I do not trust the monarchs or most of their gifts. If they give you a weapon, however, take it.
Video
[her tone suggests that she's sick of him talking to her as though she wouldn't know things. she wants him to get off his high horse.]
I'd take it long as it worked. They've got weapons around for people anyway, though. Don't need something special.
Video
Then continue training. I do not know if the Brucolac is a satisfactory teacher, but he knows how to fight to win.
Video
[for her, most of the time.]
What about you?
Video
[100% serious. She could even hear the capital V.]
Video
Oh my god. Why not help, then?
Video
[And chasing after his horse than ran away when the first dog appeared. Not a great start.]
Video
Video
[Basically, let the soldiers fight without worrying about civilians getting in the way.]
Video
Video
[And they were right back at square one. Sure, the court had other defenses, but nothing was foolproof.]
Video
[he's a real pal.]
Video
It is not my purpose to care. If you survive the dogs, continue your training.
Video
[never letting that one down.]
Be sure to let you know I'm still alive, yeah?
Video
[RUDE.]
Video
[RIGHT BACK AT U]
Video
[Predictably, he snapped the locket shut. Hopefully that was the last he'd hear of her for awhile,
said the guy that responded in the first place.]
