Action OTA & UNICORNS
Captain Jack Sparrow, during the Samhain Festivities, rather surprisingly found himself transformed into a unicorn: a magnificent black beast with a shimmering horn, mane and tail flowing like molten gold, and lovely beads and trinkets threaded through his twin beards.
Very frightening for the ladies, really.
Apart from being the lap-unicorn of one Veronica Mars -- whose boon he unwittingly is -- the pirate has been attracting virgins from around the Drabwurld. This has been highly inconvenient and is actually starting to get annoying. He has been clippity-clipping hither and yon on his fancy hooves, looking for a cure for unicorns. Desperate, really. He hates being a unicorn. Rum makes him sneeze and he misses the Pearl and he has a strange and terrible instinct to be Good. To rescue maidens from highwaymen and engage in sword-to-horn battles for righteous causes. To cure ills with his magnificently long and virile horn. To learn the art of flower-crown weaving.
It's warring with his desire to pillage and plunder and generally be completely knavish. Where will your character encounter the piratical mythological miserable happy rainbowly heroical beast?

WUH OH
As he sips, his ears swivel back. There's something not quite right, but he can't quite put his hoof on what. Some sixth sense of alertness causes him to dodge the gryphon attack at the last possible moment. She might get away with some strands of fabulous-smelling, highly-conditioned flowing unicorn tail hair, though.
He makes a shrieking neigh as he dodges. That's unicorn for WHOA.
I had to tag in... you're an incredible Jack! <3
She'd thought he was a deer or some mutation thereof, but it was clear now that she was practically on top of him that he was definitely no deer. Oops.
She backwings, halting her forward motion and hovering for a moment before landing on the ground close to him.
Her ear tufts perk forward and her head tilts to one side, curiosity in her gaze. Her voice is soft, but sincere as she addresses the animal.
"My apologies... I'd taken you for a deer..."
aww thanks! I am glad you tagged, I love new CR!
He cannot speak, which has been difficult, but he can try to communicate telepathically if she's sensitive to such things.
NO MATTER LOVELY I'M NOT A DEER SEE I'M A MAN. PIRATE. UNICORN. THING. WAS A MAN.
Sometimes his telepathy was shouty because he hadn't quite got the hang of it yet.
<3
She watches that swish of the horn warily, uncertain if the creature means to charge and defend itself.
Then, because she is (regrettably in this rather shouty instance) perfectly sensitive to telepathic speech, her eyes widen and she starts back several paces with gaping beak and flaring wings.
She eyes the unicorn (as it has identified itself (kinda)), her yellow gaze going from hoof to horn tip and back down to meet his dark eyes.
"You are a man?" She focuses on that, because the term 'pirate' is not one she knows. Her kind haven't known the ocean, see, and the biggest forms of water she could readily understand would be a lake.
She might sound just the faintest but skeptical, but at least she's not trying to kill him anymore.
no subject
At least she's not trying to kill him anymore.
Or I was. Would love to be one again, actually.
