I'm in a good mood. So, I think I should share my good mood with everyone! [In one of the ruins by La Llorona, Roa sat with his back to his locket, a number of the twisted trees with human-like faces shifting uneasily in his presence. He carried a lute with him, playing a few notes, interrupting the eerie silence that had otherwise been uncharacteristic of the swamp-lands. Not a toad croaked. Not a mouse squeaked. There was the lute for a moment, before a number of pallid looking spirits rose from the trees, moaning and writhing in front of Roa.]

This is a song from my world--a good one for the moment, I think! Now, before I get complaints about the lyrics-- it's more about the motif than the context...

[The ghosts wailed as Roa raised one hand to interrupt his lute-playing. He curled his fingers and they rolled in pain at his command.]

Like we practiced.

[The ghosts--in bad tune and tempo, all began singing Bob Dylan's 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door'. It was disjointed, lacked timing and none of the spirits understood the keys that had to be taken. Roa didn't mind it, though. He played his lute to set the beat and tempo even if the ghosts failed to accomplish the same. He stopped playing when the song was done, turning to give the locket a lazy sort of smile.]

Terrible, but we've got plenty of time to practice some more.

[The locket cut out.]

I'm not usually this bored. Truth be told, I spend so much time trying to goad the Moon Princess that I don't get a chance to do entertaining things.

I guess this is the definition of being 'bored', huh?

This really is an eye-opening glimpse into what vampires do when they suddenly have too much fee time on their hands.

I'd tell you to take up crafts or something, but I really have no idea what that would result in...

Hmmm. No, I've done that, before. It got boring around the hundredth body.

Truth be told, I've already learned a few hundred spells from the sorcerers of this land. The research has gotten so abnormally dull--it's gotten me nowhere close to the Akasha.

[...it takes him a few seconds...]

...that's really not what I meant at all, but all right then.

And really... even if the magic isn't anything special in that regard, I've heard a few things that make me wonder about the true nature of this place.

I know what you think I mean meant. You're just a bit of a tiresome conversationalist is all.

[It was a disappointment. Until that guy got back his proper mystic code, he had no real interest--]

Jeez. What am I to do with you? Haven't you gotten back your Mystic Code yet, Archibald?

You can craft with things that aren't corpses, you know... and actually, at this point, I do have it back.

...Unfortunately, it has a few... alterations to it.

Given my profession, building with other things would just be deviating quite a bit from my path.

[And, it was boring to go vanilla--using things like easels and paints and not skin and blood--]

Hmm, but, do tell me. The most common origin of your genial predecessors had been 'Water'. Is it much of a deviation from the core of your Mystic Code?

[Yeah--he did an absurd amount of research. It was easy when you could weave yourself into the Akasha...]

I suppose it would, but that's just messy and tasteless even for that.

[oh come on, like you've never threatened to dissect someone while they're alive]

Well, it's a sort of deviation, I suppose, in that it has more to do with flow than water. I'm not about to reveal all my secrets to you over these things, though, so don't expect me to.

Oh, don't be mistaken. The moment I see it, I'll understand it. I would be a failure if experience didn't aid me in that respect.

[That said, he chuckled--]

Though, I'm surprised. Have magi lost their stomachs in your time?

...well, I suppose there really is nothing new under the sun, but I'd like to imagine it would take longer than a moment.

[IT'S COOL AS HELL, OKAY]

And I've got the stomach for it, but I'm not going to pretend it's anything but inelegant.
