[ picking up one of the feathers could have been a really bad idea, what with people turning into cats and things, but something much better happens when clarisse picks up this particular feather. she's never had any magic powers before, especially not of the elemental kind. it doesn't take long to figure out what's happened. accidentally soaking yourself during your morning training routine? yeah, as if she actually told anyone what really happened.

it gives her an idea, though. yes, you see, it's finally time for payback for all those years ago when percy nearly drowned her with toilet water. yeah, she never really let that one go. wonder why. (even if it was technically her fault for instigating the whole thing by trying to flush his head down the toilet in the girl's bathroom. whatever.)

the video opens with a long shot of percy, unsuspecting, like prey. she won't be pouncing on him, though, the water will be. basically. he won't get wet if she doesn't surprise him, anyway. annoying how that whole son of poseidon thing works. the video shakes a little while she tries to keep it steady with one hand, while the other pulls back and then sweeps forward again, pulling a huge crest of water with it, aimed directly at percy.

the splash it makes when the water crashes into him is more satisfying than slaying a hundred drakons. (maybe. that might be an overstatement. slaying one drakon had been pretty satisfying. but this has been such a long time coming.) she's laughing hysterically almost to the point of crying by the time she manages to say anything. ah, yes, vengeance is sweet. ]

HAHAHAHAHA! That's for nearly drowning me with toilet water, Jackson!

[this is thousand times funnier just because it's percy and jason goes from "mature praetor" to "dumb teenage boy" when percy is involved. he's trying to restrain the grin, but it's not working very well.]

[ clarisse makes a face like she's considering not starting a water fight with percy, but she's really not. ]

[ clarisse shrugs nonchalantly. she probably will lose, but she isn't entirely prepared to win, either. it's still percy and, yeah, he's way better at the water thing than she is. that doesn't mean she can't have fun with it. ]

[it doesn't even matter who wins. if it involves percy and clarisse, then this is going to quickly explode, take out innocent bystanders, and turn into a demigod wet t-shirt contest.

he holds up his hands placatingly, eyebrows raised.]

Hey, I'm rooting for you. But I'm just pointing out the obvious disadvantage.

[ the arch of her eyebrow says, "really?" there's no need to point out the obvious disadvantage when she obviously already knows what it is. ]

Yes, thank you, Captain Obvious. I know when I'm outmatched. But when has that ever stopped anyone before?

I doubt it'd stop you. But if you're trying to get back at him for something, I'd have thought you'd just...punch him, or something.

[ oh, please, jason. why would she punch him when she has fancy water powers? it's poetic justice. ]

That's not nearly as satisfying. I can punch him whenever I want. This is finally giving him a taste of his own medicine.

[said with a glance back in percy's direction, as if checking to see whether he'd done just that already or not.]

[ wow, don't ruin her fun. she already knows about the insta-non-wetness, but, yes, it is still satisfying to know he at least got wet long enough for the whole network to see, okay. ]

[ normally, she'd turn down his backup, but... she'll make a special exception for this particular situation. ganging up on percy is her favorite pastime, after all. ]

You know? I could use some backup. [ and the smirk on her face says she has some sort of plan. ]

[percy is kinda his bromantic soulmate, but that doesn't mean jason is adverse to ganging up on him. especially in the case of a water fight where percy has the advantage anyway.]

Damn right I do. [ she sets a firm hand on jason's shoulder, then nods her head in percy's direction. ] You're going to be the distraction.

[his face falls pretty quickly at that idea.]

I should have guessed that your "plan" would involve me being your cannon fodder.

[ she looks offended, but she isn't really. but maybe she is a little. it's a good plan! ]

Yeah, and what else would it involve? He won't get wet unless he doesn't see me coming. Just try not to electrocute him first, yeah?
