memory | open to both courts
[The memory starts off at night, large and colorful firecrackers lighting up the sky. The sounds of people laughing and being merry can be heard all around in what is obviously a large celebration of some kind. There is food and drink in everyone's hands and if there is one thing off about this very happy memory is that almost everyone seen have large, furry bare feet and in comparison to the one person there who is wearing shoes they are also very, very short.
The one person who sticks out among all the Hobbits here is a very tall and elderly-looking man dressed completely in gray with an equally gray pointy hat and beard. He seems preoccupied with some of the fireworks when suddenly a very small child runs up from behind with a wooden sword and begins to promptly smack his backside with it, giggling madly like children do.
Of course the tall man, in good humor, turns around to playfully fight back with the small child, laughing all the while with the boy until a woman's voice calls out in surprise.]
Bilbo! Bilbo! [A young woman with dark, bouncy curls in a dark red dress comes running up to the tall man, Gandalf and young Bilbo, gently pulling the toy from him with a disapproving look that lasts all of five seconds.] Bilbo, no that is very impolite!...
[The memory fades with Belladonna, Bilbo's mother, turning to Gandalf with an apologetic smile while Bilbo looks up at both of them still in good spirits.]
[ooc; If you wanted to watch the cuteness in action...]

Video, assuming he learnt Bilbo's name already
You were a fine child, Master Bilbo
visual; of course!
A fine handful if going off my mother's stories say anything.
... I had almost forgotten about that party. At least one good thing came of this embarrassment.
visual; \o/
Who was the Man?
visual;
[Blinking.] The Man?- Oh! You mean Gandalf the Gray? No, he's a wizard.
visual;
Ah! [ A maia masquerading as human, how... odd ] Brave of you, to attack a wizard so [ A soft tease ] What was he like?
visual;
visual;
Later I think I must beg you for your tale, Master Bilbo. Legolas has told me what little he knows, but I deem it will likely be more accurate from the source, eh?
video
You were precious, dear Bilbo. And he hardly seems to have minded that 'attack.'
video
Fauntlings usually are, as precious as they are high-spirited and horribly curious to which I cannot deny I was either one. [He means it teasingly.] I remember being especially curious- a little too much for my own good.
video
There is hardly anything wrong with that. And you can only be 'too curious,' I think, when it becomes dangerous.
[Celebrían no.]
video
Yes, I do agree with you there... [He can already name a few recent experiences that would fit the 'curious enough to be dangerous' category.] For young hobbits in such a large world almost everything could be dangerous. Even a trip to the market isn't safe if you aren't careful.
video
Well, you clearly did not run into too much danger or I would not have the pleasure of speaking with you now. [Nod.] And that is true enough but many things can be dangerous.

I hope so as well. We have done well enough so far, I hope that luck continues.

at least that has not changed
visual;
Adorable! I am much too old now to be considered adorable, Kili. Honestly!

How sweet.
[ how sweet! followed by a little 'aw' sound ]
visual;
[In fact he is pink from his cheeks to the tips of his ears.]
My poor mother. I remember causing her trouble to no end, always running off in search of... adventures. She worried, but I never strayed too far from home.
Although I do remember getting myself lost in the woods while in search of Elves... [Bilbo...]

May I ask what your world is like?
written
So you are a seasoned swordsman, Bilbo.
visual
It only applies to abusing wizards I believe. Beyond that I am still near useless with a sword.
visual
You need only ask, if you want a bit of training.
visual
Your Uncle offered to help me too. I don't think I could handle a beating from two Dwarves, let alone one.
video;
Awwwww, look at the little guy go! No way a kid that cute is impolite!
video; super late mY BAD
Cuteness can be deceiving, especially in young fauntlings. [But he smiles a little.] I would like to think taking a toy sword to someone's backside is impolite in every world but I may be wrong.
video; NO WORRIES i am molasses
