[ The locket comes alive with a voice - deep and wild as the sea, it sings a lament in a language that seems made for music. The songs starts partway, and it is obvious perhaps that the singer is not aware that he is being recorded. There is the flash of one of the Unseelie imps, before it vanishes offscreen to reveal the singer - a man, or something like one, dark haired and grey eyed, with his face turned up to the stars.

To any who listen, the words of the song will paint themselves in the mind - white ships and blood on the sand, a tall and proud people with bright banners beneath a new-born sun, fire and blood and tears unimaginable, and three brilliant jewels that rival the stars ]

[He knows that voice. Hasn't heard it in centuries, but he knows that voice. So very very well that it makes his heart sing and ache all at once. And the images that came to mind...

He nearly fumbles with the locket to get it to open and transmit in return, eyes a little wide as he hardly dares breathe out one word.]

[Any other time, he may have regretted interrupting the song. But no, not now. He'll just have to coax more songs out of Maglor later, provided the older elf didn't hide from him. Again.

He probably looks a little strange though, clearly in the midst of controlled chaos that was healing and people coming and going all around him.

And yet his heart pounds, a glance around reminds him he hadn't heard that song any other way but through the locket. Meaning...and that strange glimpse of creatures dark and foul.]

[ the song ends abruptly as Maglor looks up and realises what has happened. Scowling he chases off the Imp and retrieves the locket ]

[She knows that voice. Even before she sees his face, she knows his voice. And his song- it's as if the world slows around her, as if everything else becomes silent.

She has to answer, whatever else is going on. It does not take long for her to find someone to take her place as a healer. They all need breaks, after all; as far as anyone else is concerned, this is only a much needed moment of rest.

It takes her a few moments to work out the video function of the locket, but when she does, she'll appear on screen, her hair bound about her head much as it often was when she was young.]

[Celebrimbor utterly stills, his eyes widening, a shuddering gasp leaving his parted lips. The song pierces his heart as surely as any dart, the violence and bloodshed blossoming in his mind, images clear enough that they could have been memories.

But it's more than that, more than the song, it's the singer. For Celebrimbor would recognize that fair voice anywhere, and remembers, crystal-clear the playful lullabies of his childhood sung in that strong voice, lulling him to sleep.]
