[VIDEO] 9 April [SEELIE] A Call to Arms [OPEN]
[ The video is aimed largely past the speaker, to the twichting-writhing forms of three snake-like horned-creatures, the crackles of electricity still racing across their scales as they move. The locket is likely proper up on a rock or tree somewhere, as the speaker is turned to face the worms, his arms up and tattoos glowing electricity crackles from his hands. He is standing on land near a small river-stream near farmsteads. ]
Attention.
I am Kaldur’ahm, recently brought here with the rest of you. I was exploring the rivers and streams nearby and found that several had been blocked by these creatures, and that they were attacking the farms homesteads.
[ One of the worms seems to recover from the temporary paralysis, and lunges towards Kaldur, who leaps away and grasps two devices firmly in his hands. He jumps up again slams downwards on its tail with a water-formed spiked mace, inadvertently severing part of the tip from the worm. He bats the rest of the worm back further away and continues. ]
I am requesting assistance. Several of the civilians have been bitten, and are displaying signs of being in a critical condition due to the creature’s venom. I have been attempting to combat these worms for a few hours, and they grow more resistant to my electric paralyzation with each attempt I try.
[ The severed tail-end starts wriggling violently, and he forms a sledgehammer to knock it back several yards, closer to the still-paralyzed worms. ]
They are quick to regenerate from severed pieces, like echinoderms.
I need those who can help me combat these creatures and those who can help transport the injured to the castle, as well as individuals to help care for those injured by the worms.
{{ooc: The four first comments titled as "Alpha Squad", "Beta Squad", "Gamma Squad" and "Support Team" are for the 'action' part. (Where I will also attempt to GM as worms if people so desire). Feel free to answer the comm itself before immediately jumping into action, or to handwave being assigned to the team you are on and head straight for the action, as well as forming your own little threadlines!
They are more for organization purposes and keeping your squad-mates straight than anything else, and any number of threads can be started below the heading!
NOTE: IC'ly, the Squad assignations are happening on the spot.}}

derek hale | ota. ( between fights, etc. )
he stands a little away from the rest of the team when he emerges from the fray, wiping the gore from his hands and skin. there's disgust on his face, but his eyes are on the worms, from the people battling them. it's clear this is only a temporary respite, that he's not tapping out just because he's taking a minute to wipe his face off. ]

[ She says it as she stands up, and then quickly finds herself, crouching down again to pick up her fallen bow, clutching it in her hands. He's not an enemy, not anymore, but he's certainly not a friend, either. She's pretty sure he won't attack her, but then again, she's not sure he won't, either. ]
no subject
You aren't going to need that. Not for me.
[ because why beat around the bush? things are complicated with them. she's an argent, it will always be complicated and difficult, just like it was with chris. ]
I heard you were here.
no subject
I didn't hear that you were.
no subject
[ but he'd seen stiles. that was usually enough, considering how quickly word traveled. though there were probably bigger things to discuss. or avoid talking about, considering.
was there a tactful way to ask someone if they knew they were dead? ]
I saw your arrows.
[ which is less a comment on her marksmanship and more a comment on the fact that she hadn't used him for target practice while he was weaving through the mess of worms. ]
no subject
[ A pointed look, just briefly, before she turns back to examining her arrows. ]
no subject
Is that what this is? Us on the same side again?
[ again being the key word, derek trying to find out how much she remembers from home without asking outright. it hadn't been so long ago they'd stood shoulder to shoulder in his loft, circling stiles protectively. ]
no subject
Or, at the very least, a mutual friend's body.
She shoulders the quiver, after a moment, gaze lingering on Derek before sliding in the direction of the chaos they were both there to fight. ] I'm not here to fight you. Whatever that means.
no subject
[ derek sounds exasperated, because fighting worms in a fairy land offends his sensibilities. his life has taken on a weird level of ridiculous, and he doesn't appreciate it. ]
That's not what I was asking. [ because talking around this is clumsy, and derek doesn't have the patience to refine it. ] I wanted to know what you remembered from home.

[ this is the state of affairs now, that things need to be narrowed down further. even the loft doesn't help, derek thinking back to halloween. he shakes his head, impatient. ]
I was at the high school. With the twins.

Allison.
[ he knows immediately. he knows. his expression tightens, because what is there to say? she's either on the verge of death, or she's already dead and here through magic. that's the options. neither of them are particularly good. ]
no subject
no subject
Wait.
[ it's not really that he wants to say something. he knows he should, but he also knows that there's no way he can say the right thing. ]
Be careful here.
[ which is an expression of intent, really. derek swears up and down that he isn't going to protect anyone, but. ]
no subject
no subject
[ sharply, because derek doesn't. he hates pity, hated having it directed at him and he didn't have it in him to direct it at anyone else, least of allison which was a bizarre sort of compliment. ]
That's not what this is.
no subject
[ Confusion turned to slight annoyance. Allison turns fully, raising her eyebrows. ]
no subject
[ because when in doubt, fall back to sarcasm rather than genuine emotion. ]

It's a surprise to see someone fighting so well barehanded and if he had been dressed in a manner more familiar to her, she might have allowed herself to wonder if he were part Laguz.]
Excuse me...? Sir...?
[She trails off when she realises she doesn't know this man's name and no matter how you put it, "Sir Big Guy" was just plain rude.]
no subject
[ though it wouldn't be the first time someone called him "big guy," and it's not the worst thing he's been called by a long shot. but sir is weird, and derek shakes his head at it, brushes it off. ]
Do you need something?
[ it's not outright rude, but it's a little terse, derek's attention half on the battle he was just engaged in. ]
no subject
[She nods back towards where she had left Mako behind]
We were discussing how to fight the worms more efficiently and wanted to know if you were capable of carrying the worm pieces over to bonfires [Which they should definitely set up as soon as possible] before they can regenerate.
no subject
[ because derek just can't let well enough alone, even if that probably makes no difference in the long run. he's not a knight, or anything else. but what she's asking, that derek's capable of, and he nods, obliging. ]
I can lift them. We'll need more people than just me though.
[ which mostly means smaller pieces, but he thinks that's a suggestion he can save for later. ]
no subject
...Derek.
[She nods, looking relieved. That was one issue out of the way]
Of course. First, we just need to gather as much firewood as possible.
no subject
[ it's faintly dismissive, like derek doesn't think he's the firewood gathering type. but to be fair, it isn't like he's getting a lot done as it is. the worms heal. all the claws in the world aren't going to make a difference there. ]
