[recruitment time. he'd assume that the majority of the fight-y types here are busy with that whole moon situation, but surely they'll have a moment to glance at the lockets at some point. no matter how dire the situation it, he doubts it's non-stop fighting for days on end. in the image shown over the lockets, saralegui smiles sweetly, playing up his own harmless appearance for this matter.]

I'm looking for a bit of assistance. Or at least, anyone who'd consider themselves fairly strong and are interested in taking a little trip.

[there's no chance he can get away with saying absolutely nothing about his destination or goals, if he wants to keep to that innocent "in need of help" image. so instead, he sticks to the bare minimum, in that pleasant and open manner of his that hides away any sign of withheld information.]

I need to go visit Troichean Beinn. I've already found a guide, of sorts, but it'd be nice to have some protection as well, both from the general dangers of traveling and whatever threats the city itself might pose. You can consider it a temporary guard job, but honestly, I'd also just appreciate the additional company.

What payment might you willingly offer for the service of a Judge Magister?

[ Sure, it galls him to think of lowering his station to that of a mere bodyguard. But it galls him far less than the thought of raising his sword in the name of his abductors, and traveling these lands with some accompaniment could very well provide its own benefits. ]

I've never heard of a Judge Magister before, but I have gold.

[ So, yes, he does have a bit of experience as a bodyguard to an emperor. Not a king, though; his track record with kings has so far been more lethal than that. ]

[if everything goes well, then eventually he'll be able to offer a great deal, and he'll remember those that had been of particular help in the time leading up to it. but saying any of that now would only only sound coldly ambitious, so he'll keep his mouth shut for the time being.

it's better that way anyway; anyone might simper and play nice seeking an eventual payout, but his time with yuuri made him rather fond of the type that would help even without guarantee of anything in return.]

[Indeed, during a time of respite during the Moon defense, Saber spared a glance at her locket. She remembered Saralegui and whereas she had a good reason to avoid Troichean Beinn, it was not a good reason when someone needed protection.

With the darkness of the caverns, it isn't easy to see Saber in the locket, so she dismisses her visor for this conversation. Her armor is somewhat visible, though.]

I shall accompany you. For what purpose do you head to Troichean Beinn?

Would you do me a simple favour on your travels, sir? I shall owe you in turn if you agree, for I do not think the bother would be too great an inconvenience.

What favor? If it seems reasonable, then I'm sure I could.

Hello, Miss...I'm sorry, Saber. [see? no titles, he remembered.] That's very kind of you. It's nothing terribly significant, I was just asked to look into a friend's affairs for them. But I'd appreciate your company all the same.

If any Elven clans or tribes are made known to you, I should like to hear of them and their location.

[Not everyone is a knight that also technically doesn't need to eat or sleep. She still does it when she could, but the need for coin was not something she was terribly concerned with. Though, it wasn't hard to figure out the proverbial way top Saber's heart was through her stomach. Maybe the dwarves were as good of cooks as they were smiths.]

Dangerous affairs if you are requesting protection. I do expect to be told more about what to expect before we reach Troichean Beinn. Knowledge is essential for a proper defense.

Native ones, or are you looking for other guests?

The road itself can be dangerous. You've only just arrived, so I don't expect you to fully understand yet, but I'd rather not be alone with just a guide should there be another attack of shadow monsters or something.

Troichean Beinn?

[ katsa's pronunciation is off even as she mimics saralegui, though not too far. it doesn't ring a bell, but then, she hadn't been poring over maps since she arrived.

she's not exactly interested in acting as a guard for someone without fully knowing them or their intentions, but she doesn't exactly want to settle in caer scima, and seeing more of the land might give her a better idea of how she could return to her own. she hesitates. ]

What sort of city is this place?

[when you've got a name like "saralegui", you tend to get very good at handling difficult pronunciations.]

A dwarven city. Built inside a mountain, from what I've heard. I've never been there before myself, but it sounds fascinating.

A city inside a mountain? [ now this is interesting, and that's obvious in the shift in katsa's face and voice. she's seen a city built tucked in between mountains, and one raised to the very top, but not a city within. ] Carved into the stone, you mean?

Will you need me once the city itself is reached?

Either, with no true distinction. Both interest me.

[ Connor's still in the middle of the moon event, but seeing as he really has no stake in the moon being in the sky or not (more like he went just to see how everyone would fight) he speaks up, interested. plus, he doesn't hate saralegui. he had been pretty helpful to Connor during the feast, despite Connor's hostile attitude. ]

Still looking for people?

Alone, mere coin would hardly suffice. When joined with the chance to see more of these lands with my own eyes, however, the opportunity becomes worthwhile.

[ It's as blunt as he can afford to be, for now. He's already disadvantaged in how little he knows of this Drabwurld — sure, knowledge of its geography is relatively close at hand, but knowledge of its politics is not so easily discerned — and he needs to change that as quickly as possible. ]

Troichean Beinn is a long journey. [The way he's looking at the locket, it seems like it may be resting on the map, and that he's looking at the latter rather than the former.]

It is. That's half the reason I was looking for protection.

I can keep an eye out for you. But it would be nice to know the name of the man I should seek out, if I were to actually find anything.

Something like that, I'd expect. The dwarves are an isolated people, and growing more so by the day, so it's a difficult city to get into.
