[Castle appears on the locket network looking concerned. It's been 24 hours since he followed faeries to the place, 24 hours since his car went off the road into an embankment and he had… died? Maybe. It's his assumption, based on the faeries, which makes this some kind of afterlife. It isn't what he was expecting, but he's pretty pleased with it. Who knew heaven was one epic renaissance festival?

One problem remains though, and that's the location of Kate. Of course, if this is the afterlife, she's not here. As far as he knows, she's alive and well, possibly mourning his death on what was supposed to be their wedding day. He feels guilty, but hopes that he made the right choice in coming here.

He's spent the day searching the castle and asking whoever he comes across whether they've seen a woman matching Kate's description. No luck so far. Castle is finally taking the advice of some and asking over the locket network.]

Hi there. My name's Richard Castle and I'm new to your land. It's awesome, by the way. I've got no complaints, really, except… I'm looking for someone and wondering if she managed to find her way here too. Her name is Kate Beckett. She's in her thirties, tall, thin, long brown hair, really beautiful. [He smiles in a way that makes it obvious he's describing his lover.] But also really stern. Like… probably waving around a badge and barking that she's NYPD and what the hell is going on. [That's Kate in a nutshell.] Anyway, if anyone knows of her or her whereabouts, please let me know. If she's here, I'd like to find her.

[Despite the odds, there's still a little glimmer of hope in him. He and Kate have a very odd connection and a tendency to find each other, even when it seems unlikely. She could be here, though Castle doubts that Kate would actually acknowledge faeries existing, let alone follow them to another world. But, he could still hope.]

[It might be hard to tell that Aubri's a gryphon upon first look -- the locket doesn't show much beside his face, after all. He's not quite all bird, though: the ear tufts rather give him away, as do the occasional glimpse of wings behind him.]

So many people asking for others. Have you found your Kate?

[His accent is noticeable: rolling sibilants and elongated vowels.]

[There's a bird on the video talking to him. For now, all he's noticing is the beak and the feathers, so he doesn't realize that it's a gryphon. Having a bird talk to him is enough though and he'd be more freaked out about it had he not encountered actual faeries the day before.]

Sadly, no.... although this land seems very vast.

Indeed it is. I have traveled it fairly extensively and not seen half of what there is to see.

Don't waste your breath. If you're looking for someone from home, you're not going to find her here.

[Probably, though that could just be his inner...and outer pessimist talking.]

The only people with family here are the elves. And trust me, that is not necessarily a good thing.

[Three things catch his attention:

1.) Castle is probably the first person to describe this place as awesome (at least so openly.)
2.) NYPD. He's sort of still starry-eyed about New York since he just got there back in his own world.
3.) He's apparently kind of old. Hey. Thirties is old when you're eighteen.

But instead of saying that no, sorry, he hasn't seen her, he can't help but ask.]

What's so special about her? [Or, rather, "why is she so important to you?" It's curiosity more than anything.]

There are lands outside the rule of the courts where lockets and their functions are not widely used. You had best send word to them with the aid of the birds, domesticated or not, in the event your lady has emerged into Allaidh Darach there, for not all are so kindly awakened within a walled sanctuary. I, myself, opened my eyes to the wilderness.

[ Police! Police is good. Police is very good. Police is normal and that has Kelsi's attention. She knows she shouldn't assume the other is an officer, too, but--well, she does. The guy talking looks to be about cop age, too, though Kelsi being 18 means she has a horrible sense of age judgement.

Still, she squares her shoulders and tries her best to make eye-contact with the locker. Authority figures have always sort of been difficult to talk to. ]

Maybe she's going to come later? Or maybe she's safe in her own world.

Maybe she's at the other court...

But I don't think so. If she's here, she'd surely be in the Seelie court.

[The guy on the screen seems like a sharp contrast to what Castle has encountered for the last few days. This guy reminds him of home. And at least he's honest. It won't take Castle's hope away though.]

Others have told me that they've found people here from their homes so I guess it's not impossible. Also when you say elves, are you talking about the kind that help Santa or the tall beautiful ones?

She's my fiancee.

[Kind of a rude way to ask, but whatever. The person on the screen looks like a kid anyway.]

[ and your second elf, though that probably won't be immediately obvious. ]

No complaints about being drawn into a strangers' war? [ a pause. ] .. My brother quickly found me on this.. network. If your lady is here, I imagine she, too, will find you in good time.

[Oh, it's an elf. At first Castle thinks it might be a woman but then the voice makes it obvious that it's a man. What he says though, makes the glimmer of hope grow stronger.]

So you're saying it's possible that she's here, just not in an accessible place. Is that possible? Do people usually land in the middle of nowhere? [For lack of a better term.]

[ Scuse you, sirrah, all this long beautiful silky hair is the essence of a true badass. ]

Yes. You ought to send out messenger hawks immediately, if she means that much to you. If she arrived near a farmstead of natives, for example, none of them would bear lockets such as these with which to attend your summons.

[He's... kind of a cop! He consults for the NYPD and has worked with them long enough to think like one, though still with his writer's creative flair. Someone in the precinct needs to be able to think outside the box.]

I hope at the very least she's safe at home.

[Well, ok, yes, that war thing. He's kind of planning on ignoring that for as long as he can.]

It's been over a day... she's usually pretty on top of things, even despite being brought to a magical realm.

[It's very Fabio. Castle is impressed.]

Ok... yeah, I need to do that. She's my fiancee.

[ yeah that war thing. you might want to get the hell out of dodge while you can, bro. ]

Perhaps she is still in your home.. world. [ it still seems bizarre to think that everyone here is from worlds that aren't his own. ] Though.. 'tis passing strange, to bring you here and not your lady. One would think these rulers would want their soldiers serving them gladly.

[ This Fabio must be a great warrior in your land, stranger. ]

Your intended? [ Odd though he might appear, with those quick bright eyes that flicker aside, his tone eases a little. ] I will do what I can to help in your search for her.

[ Though it mightn't be much, truthfully. ]

You know her well, then.

She's my fiancee. [He smiles.] And she's a cop.

[Castle finally gets a better look at the creature talking to him via the locket.]

Wait.. are you..."

[Yeah he's... something like that.]

Wow, I... thanks. [Castle's not expecting suck quick kindness from strangers.] You could at least tell me how I can find the messenger hawks. Are they at the Seelie castle?

Indeed.

[You and your elf friend up there are making quite the argument. Castle and Beckett are an extraordinary couple anyway. They've survived so much to be together, sure they would survive this?]

But would they separate us?

[ woah don't tell thranduil you mentally called them friends. ]

I should think it possible, for reasons beyond my understanding. I have family here, but not all my family. Perhaps they choose based on traits they wish represented in their respective courts.

Easy enough to find at the birdhouses if you ask the fairies to lead you there. The hawks are faster than the pigeons and more reliable than the ravens.

[ In his experience, anyway, but then Thranduil speaks directly to the wilder birds and doesn't have a need to bother the tame ones belonging to the Seelie castle. He speaks of their actual opinions of each other, but there's no need to mention that. ]

[There's the question he expected.
