[There's a boy with white hair, quite obviously rather young however, staring with eyes blue and wide, a curiosity coursing through him as he peeks through closely. There's a moment where he seems quite anxious, as if he's unable to speak, but as he pulls back, it passes fast, a notable smile blooming suddenly on his face. The video shakes from his apparent bouncing, peering into the locket with nervous excitement.]

Hello! The name's Jack Frost, and if you can hear me, if you can see me—I really hope you can see me—please say something, anything, really.

[Fifteen years and he's only ever spoken to another spirit or two. Oh, how he longs for conversation! To be able to hear responses to questions, laughter towards his jokes, anything to let him know that he's heard, that he's seen.

He lifts a hand, hesitating for a beat before a small wave of frost lifts from his finger tips and he blows it forward. A hearty laugh soon follows, quite pleased with the act.]

I don't know much about what's going on out there, but I've got a huge stash of ammo for the best snowball fight you'll experience in ages. Heck, we can even go ice skating or sledding! We'll slide down hills or even mountains of snow. Anything goes.

[His smile grows ever wider with talk of his plans, a slight excited laugh escaping him as he continues to gaze with delight.] Look, wherever you are, it doesn't matter—I can get you one of the best snow days of your life. You'll have a blast. I promise.

[ Why is it always Hiccup bursting bubbles? This isn't his favourite pasttime, okay, contrary to popular belief. ]

Jack, there's a massive war going on. Did no one mention that to you? [ That's probably not the right question. ] Didn't you take anything in at the feast? Like, I don't know, getting kidnapped by imps?

[Here comes the king of negativity. Jack's still wondering if Hiccup will ever just let loose for once.]

War or not, that's even more a reason for people to lighten up a bit—including you. Would you stop freaking out for a second and try to have a little fun?

It's the right month for it. Which court are you in? I think the Unseelie seem like the most likely to celebrate Halloween.

Hey, if I get in some sort of pinch, I won't have much problems getting out of it. [Maybe. So far, he hasn't exactly seen many who can fly like he can. Though he can probably bet there might still be ways for him to get caught in the air. But those are thoughts for another time.]

Besides, did you ever think that maybe there's plenty of people on the other side just like us who aren't in this for a fight?

The fact there are Seelie who would willingly attack you is bad enough. At least don't go straight to their castle, no matter how nice the others are. Find neutral ground to play on.

Halloween? Oh, you mean All Hallow's Eve? If that's the case, I guess I'm pretty lucky to be an Unseelie, if they're willing to ease up for a little celebration then.

Even I'm not crazy enough to just march straight inside, you know. [He sighs, giving a shrug.]

I'll find a nice, safe patch to toss around the flurries. Does that make you happier, Hic?

[ There's a thoughtful hum. She's never really been in a climate where snow was a thing, so she's not really sure what a snowball fight entails. But he seems really excited about it, so. ]

I've never been in a snowball fight before, but if you say it'll be fun, then I wouldn't mind joining in.

[Finally, someone with a sense of excitement in them.]

[ It's not the best day he's ever had, admittedly. ]

I have things to do back home, Jack, I can't throw snowballs around and just forget about the fact my home is in danger. I don't know what you were doing before you got here but, in case you hadn't noticed, some of this fairy-war stuff is overly stressful.

[He's silent for a while. He forgets that some people actually have a home to go back to. This may be a war zone, but it's the best he's got.]

Right. Never mind I said anything, Hiccup. You just do your thing and I'll do mine, I guess.

Great. Have fun, I really mean that. Someone should.

[ Off goes the locket, and Hiccup will go to the forge to hit things with a hammer for a while. He knows he's taking out his frustrations on Jack, but right now he can't dredge up the ability to care; not without Toothless safe, and not so far from home.

So, an anvil and scalding metals being forced to bend to his will it is. At least he'll have some control over whatever he decides to make. ]

It never really snows in New Mexico-- It sort of does but that power is amazing, and how did you do that? [ She sort of waves her hand, as if mimicking his movements to get frost. ]

[It's actually amusing to see someone try it on their own; a sense of pride rising just from someone being impressed with it.]

Ah, well, I'm kind of a spirit. Winter spirit, they've called me, so I'm kind of a special case. [He brings up his hand to demonstrate again.]

Well.

That's one way to take the edge off the war. Can't deny there's always been a need for that historically.

[Her tone is a mixture of amused and chastising. Though she keeps it mild.]

Such excitement over such things. You remind me of someone from the North.

[...'Jack Frost'?

Ryan's quiet for a second as he just sort of watches what Jack's doing, and on the one hand he's mesmerized because he's wondering with his new powers if he can ever create frost. Frost is just cold water, right? On the other hand Jack's talking, like, kind of more than most people and he's talking about snow and Ryan's kind of laughing under his breath.]

You said anything, right? Which do you like better, the snow or the ice?

[ She tries, too, but mostly because she wants to get the movement right--if she can copy it and show it to Ryan, maybe he can use it in one of his dances. She lifts a brow, as if to say, 'is this right?' even though no frost happens. ]

A winter spirit sounds really neat--And I think special cases should be celebrated. Especially since you want to have fun.
