why are you singing

[ She wasn't expecting a question like this. Or maybe she was and it's too difficult to just answer one thing. 'Father wanted us to follow our dreams, 'The only way to get revenge against DES is to sing in dangeous locations, 'I want to sing next to Mariko'. There's been a lot of reasons for why she sings and none of them are ones she's forgotten. But to be asked so straightforwardly it makes her pause for just the right answer. ]

Singing can give people courage. If you find the right song for the right moment then it can empower anyone.

It's not just our song. The best way to understand it is in my universe things like singing or entertainment is banned. People live in harsh conditions. In spite of that, AKB0048 comes to see them. We're trained in combat to be able to perform and sing without failing the people that come to see us.

Ah, at the same time, singing for everyone and understanding their feelings empowers us. Our clothes are designed to protect us, but if we truly understand those feelings our kiraras create shields sometimes, too. It's not always the song that's important, but the people.
