first move :: video :: open
[ It was just over a week ago that he was at home. Just over a week ago that he'd been doing things with the other Aurors. Just over a week ago that he'd arrived here and had his world tossed on its side. Things changed quickly and after a message he's kind of just flopping around his room. Okay, so maybe he was a little better than that.
But he had a lot to think about and, unfortunately, thinking and him didn't go hand-in-hand. It just led to thoughts he was better off away from. He was better at doing, not sitting around, and that's what led to the sudden video.
...Or maybe the video coming on now was partly accidental because at first you get a very good image of a cat getting teased with a piece of meat before it disappears off screen. Now the screen shifts as the young man on the other side of the video tries to figure out how to set it. He's definitely eating the food (that's rude, Ron).
At least he's used the locked a few times before... but he still looks fairly awkward when he finally settles. ]
Uh. I'm Ron, Ron Weasley. [ A beat. ] Yeah, my sister was here 'til a bit ago. I wasn't here when she was. Know Harry and Hermione, too. Not that that much matters much to most of you, but figured it's worth saying since I was asked about that already.
[ Okay. Now what. How do you talk to people? ]
There seems to be loads going on here. Which I guess is to be expected, you know, with a war. And monsters attacking-- 'Though that's something different. I'm not even sure what it is. Er, well, if there's anything I can do to help with that--I'll try. Not that any thing seems to be working for it.
But I'd like to. Try, I mean. Even if not that. I'm rubbish at most things, but sitting back while everyone's doing everything isn't very useful. I've gone to school and I'm an Au--something like a pleas--policeman. That's got to count for something. I help my brother in a joke shop sometimes, too, so there's always a good laugh.
[ . . . ]
So. Yeah.
[ . . . Another pause. ]
I was told to find some bloke named Mako, too. If any of you know where to find him.
