These people have no right or place to cast punishment on any of us, regardless of what we decide to do. Much less so when we choose to do no more but to stay away from their own petty affairs.

It is a possibility, however. Cowards as they are, the easiest way to handle the nuisance that your father could have become in the future would be to send him back home entirely. I would wager they did not expect you to continue what he started.
