[He didn't expect a smile, and honestly, he'd never seen so many of them until Shepard had brought him aboard the Normandy. There hadn't been much to smile about in his life. He gave him a short nod in response, and left to find his horse, thinking maybe he'd swing by the lake if there was enough daylight left. Some part of him wanted to help the elf, but the rest of him was more realistic - this still wasn't his war, and he wasn't about to get involved in the fringes.
