Death is a strange thing for the Eldar, Javik - we may be slain yes, but time does not wear on us the way it does the Secondborn or Durin's kin. We did not know what death was, until grandfather was slain, although I am sure his generation remembers the Long March and the lives lost there. And father... was... not very sane, I think. None of us were - terrified, grief-stricken... and father's emotions have always run hot. Willingly? Perhaps or perhaps not - but when he died Javik, with his last thought he cursed our enemy and made us all swear the Oath again.
