[Because carrying around this big solid man for weeks isn't a graze in the pasture. Steve's reached a new destination though, with the help of a fairy ring or two. There's a lot of hustle and bustle behind him, the background so different from the rest of this world that it's obvious where he is. The effect is a lot like when he crashed through a wall and into the new and improved(?) Times Square.]

I think we were supposed to leave cakes for the fairies, except I didn't have any. I don't have much at all right now.

[His brow furrows at that. His plain white t-shirt is easy to see, and a glimpse of soft blue pants isn't impossible either. Yeah, he's been travelling from the other Court in his pajamas.

My name is Steve Rogers. I come from Earth, and I grew up in Brooklyn. I joined the Army, and I've been in a war before, so I thought I knew what I was signing up for when I came here. What I've found are people on both sides who really don't wanna fight. So I don't care if you're Seelie or Unseelie, if you're out there and you need help, I'll do whatever I can to help.

[To the absolute delight of travelling best buddy, no doubt. Steve starts to close his locket, before thinking of one last small detail.]

Me, too. The monarchs are nice, and all, but it's just... weird. How much they're not telling us, I mean.

I don't think their secrets are gonna stay that way forever. Anything in particular that strikes you as a little strange?

Aside from grabbing all of us and telling us we have some kind of stone in our body that we can't let go of? [ She thinks. ] I have a friend. You know those... boon? Things? That they give out? He asked to go home, and they told him no. I just think that... if they were as benevolent as they say they are, they'd let us go if we didn't want to be here. Those... fairies, the things that brought us, here. How clear were they when they told us to follow them? And we're here to fight a war, right? So far all I've done is help a sick fairy get better, and prepare to fight off a giant bear. I thought war was supposed to be more... war-like.

[Steve's brows lift. There's a nail around here, and this young lady just hit it square on the head.]

It is. It should also be fought by soldiers, and a lot of the people I've talked to here just aren't. I came here because they said my world was threatened. Now I wonder if they aren't the threat.

[overdraws]

[ If she's anything, she's observant. ] It wouldn't be the first time the people in charge have been the ones causing all the problems.

[He laughs softly, briefly at that.]

No, it certainly would not.

Is that why you came here? To the station, I mean.

It started as just a stop along the way from somewhere else. But that might be why I stay for awhile.

[overdraws]

Yeah, it doesn't seem like such a bad place. I don't know if I feel safer, here, but... it's almost like being at home.

Beacon Hills, California.

The West Coast, huh. Ever see any movie stars?

[Though all of Steve's favorites are dead.]

[ She laughs, but it's not mocking. ] Not that far north, although I did see Robert Downey Jr once when I lived in Los Angeles when I was ten.

Oh yeah, I hear he's...he's good.

[Nope, not a clue.]

[ She eyes him a bit. ] You've never seen anything he's been in?

[starspangled]

No. [Steve smiles sheepishly, but he cannot tell a lie.] I will though, if I get the chance again.
