[cw: mind control]
[there is something different about the voice that comes from the locket this time. something that pulls the Unseelie listener in and makes it a good idea to pay attention to each syllable that is being said, the outside world's information dropping down. her words are important, after all. she knows they will be marked.]
We hear the tolling of the bells, the clash of metal upon metal, the drums of war in our dreams. And there is nothing to say save what their High Majesties have let us know. There is victory, or there is the end, and this heavy reality is what we cannot avert our eyes from.
But I say to you, my brothers in arms, do not despair. Do not fall to anguish and misery and thoughts of ill luck. Instead, turn your thoughts to aiding your fellows as we draw ever closer to the time of, whatever that may encompass. Help them prepare, and look to yourselves as well.
For as this battle comes, so shall we, with teeth and blade bared in the moon's light. And we shall fight with our hearts such that we do justice to our virtue of passion, remembering what it is to be not merely existing but alive! We are Unseelie, those that break down limits and search for more out of life and do not let the walls of fate confine us! Remember my words when you hear the battlefield's call, and let them give you strength such as you need. Let them remind you of who you are - shardbearers, those chosen for their world! Let not your will be impeded by fear or doubt of yourself in that moment!
And let that same will carry you through, for when death is close at hand, you will know what to do. You will know how to face your enemy's power, and know there is no shame in falling back to rise again stronger if you must.
When the day of reckoning comes, drive yourself forward and fight with me. For united, we may see this through. For your family, for your friends, for your world - for what you love and would live for, remember and fight!

[[ooc: this post is intended to place a mesmer (a type of magic mind control) on the Unseelie that hear it. it is entirely optional if it works on your character - just let me know in your tag if you pick to be affected or not!
any or all of these effects are available: an increased desire to prepare for and/or aid others in the war effort, increased courage on the battlefield, an urge to get out of danger in battle should a situation seem too fatal to avert.]]

video + super private wow
Not that he doesn't appreciate a good speech in a non-supernatural sense. But the underlying intention buzzes in his mind like his own methods do, and instantly he's on the defensive. His response when it comes is as locked down as possible, his face very obviously displeased and his voice very serious.]
What do you think you're doing?

Rallying the troops, my lord. Is something the matter?
no subject
[And little irritates him so much as that.]
"Rallying the troops" is quite the way of sugarcoating it.

[her eyebrow raises.]
I would never make the grave mistake of considering you an idiot, Saralegui. But obviously my intentions have upset you, even though they were meant in the best of spirits. To encourage, to inspire, and to instil a sense of self-preservation - that is all I mean to do.

You'll find most people don't appreciate the best intentions when they involve have such a lack of choice in the matter.
[He's more aware of that than most. For Reasons.]

Do you think I'd be so foolish as to try and bewitch shardbearers with ill thought out and demanding commands?
