Not if it's the shards they're after. Shards are what's running their machines and what's paired with their magic. Some of the natives are after our shards, too. [He's lookin' at you, Lauralae.] The thing is that we don't know how powerful their magic actually is. We didn't get the chance to stick around long enough to check out the runes they were writing and powering with blood magic. It's ancient though. We couldn't find anything about it later either. For all we know, they have another method for stopping the Void but they need all of our shards to do it. Why save us when they can save themselves?
