[This is a teenager who looks tired, but isn't letting that stop him from doing whatever it is he wants or needs to do. His dark eyes are alert, though they also look faraway.]

This probably won't be of any use in the battle coming up with how late in the game I'm offering, but I think that it's still something that's worth learning.

[He makes absolutely no sense right now and he gets that.]

One of the powers I was born with is something my world calls 'shadow travel.' By using shadows like paths to walk through, I can appear in another place. I can even take other people or objects with me. It works best at night, but there's no real problem with using it during the daytime. There's a price, though. It can take a lot of energy at first, and the amount of energy is totally dependent on the distance you're traveling and how many people are traveling with you.

[Nico looks grim, as that's not the only warning he needs to give on this particular ability.]

For any interested, I have to give you a warning on being very careful to not abuse shadow traveling. When I abused it, I almost ceased to be part of the mortal world. I almost joined the ghosts in the Underworld, the Land of the Dead. Whether that same thing can happen here, I don't know and I don't particularly want to know.

Do you think you'd like to teach your sister a little magic, Nico?

[Nico's always happy to see her smiling. He visibly perks up at her response.]

Of course! Honestly, thinking back, I'm kicking myself for not offering to teach you earlier.

[ And, right now, she just wants to cup his cheeks. ]

I could teach you a little bit of my magic, too, if you wanted. We could get you a wand.

[Nico's trying to hold back his excitement at the possibility. It's a chance to understand more about Hermione's world. He only regrets that Hazel isn't here to learn and teach the same.]

That sounds really cool, actually. Is it possible to make the wands from your world in this one?

Not wands exactly like mine, but there are Drabwurld versions. I found a few in some markets, but I'm not sure if they'd fit you perfectly. We could go and do some shopping, though?

As long as it's not clothes shopping. [That's half-hearted. He'd go clothes shopping if Hermione or Hazel asked him to, honestly.] That sounds like fun, shopping for a wand. I can make time for that whenever you've got the time.

I have Dorian for clothes, don't worry. [ Tease, tease. ] I'll find out where the best market is and we can go together one day? I can message you.

That sounds really cool, actually. Are you gonna charge to teach it?

I used to do the same thing back in my world. It wasn't a great idea to abuse that, either.

[ Though the Corridors of Darkness were a little bit different. ]

Since I can't use the Keyblade to move between places any more, it might be worth learning that again.

[ shadow traveling? there's something he hasn't heard of before, but as far as an ability goes, it sounds useful. and cloud, with his limited skills now thanks to whatever the faeries have done to him, could use a few new tricks. ]

Do a lot of people from your world have that skill?

[Faolan has never held too much in the idea of learning magic in the Drabwurld -- for one thing he has always been too busy, and for the other thing, there will always be another mage more powerful than him as far he's concerned. The idea of shadow travel intrigues him, however. Enough to bring him forward to ask:]

This travel that you speak of. How does it work, if I may ask? How... [Hmm, how to put this.] How subtle can this be?

[Nico doesn't mind the question, and his posture straightens as Faolan addresses him.]

It's very subtle. No banging or any noise, unless you trip over something in the room. Basically, what happens from an outside perspective is that your body instantly becomes part of the shadow when you leave. When you appear, it'll be like you just materialized from another shadow. The hard part is doing it, but everything else is easy. All you need is a destination in mind. A general location like 'anywhere in Glaschu' can get unpredictable, but it's doable. At home, this was how I got in and out of enemy strongholds to spy on them briefly.

[The question almost makes Nico laugh, but he restrains himself.]

Nah. Considering it has the potential to kill you if you use it too much, and that the energy it takes out of you has the potential to knock you out? I can't ask someone to pay in money, too.

[He nods, as though that doesn't surprise him.]

Yeah, I met someone a couple years ago who said he could do something similar to what I do. His could go between worlds, which mine definitely can't do. I think he called it a Corridor of Darkness.

[The details of that conversation are very fuzzy, but at least he remembers the important stuff!]

If you think it's worth it, then I'm not going to stop you from learning, especially if it comes in handy later.

Yeahhh, well, it's still a lot to ask of you. Maybe I could teach you something in return? Though I dunno what I could offer.

[ Wait.

What?

Riku's expression actually breaks in surprise, and the video angle changes as though he's suddenly brought it slightly closer in instinctive response. ]

Wait. There was someone else here who used the Corridors of Darkness?

Who was it?

[ If Nico can't guess from his expression this is very very important. ]

[He looks surprised by the reaction, but does his best to answer the question.]

I don't remember his name, since I talked to him once over two years ago, but it was a kid around my age, maybe. He had a black cloak, blond, really spiky hair, and blue eyes.

Roxas.

[ There's nobody else it could be. ]

I didn't realize he'd been here before.

I used to use the same Corridors he did, before I got my Keyblade.

I know this goes without saying, but- I'm saying it.

Be careful. Please. [ the heaviest! weight! to that sentence! because she knows what shadow travel can do to a person, remembers seeing visions of demigods from the past, the ancient past, before the big three were ( technically ) not supposed to have kids anymore. the way they would drift into shadow and never turn back.

she also remembers a very sleepy Nico, too ]

Teaching it isn't the same as abusing it, but it could be just as taxing.

[ That sounds almost like the dark magic his grandfather or mother might have used once. Although he knows magic works differently here and it sounds like shadow travel can help people. Of course, as dangerous as it sounds, it also seems pretty cool to him. But it makes sense that magic that strong has severe consequences. ]

Was it...freaky the first time you did it?

[ He hesitates in saying 'scary' but it sounds like it could be just...a little unsettling at first given what it does and how much it drains someone. ]

[Faolan thinks on it for a long moment. Such a talent would be... Useful, to say the least. Especially for a man in such a field of work as Faolan himself. Useful to him in both the form of Nico, a master of the practice himself, and useful to him in more of a direct sense...]

Have you taught such things before? [He inquires, carefully.] To others in this land? Does it require... [He trails off, but if Nico knows who Faolan is, then will probably understand what he's getting at. Faolan, being shardless, has for the most part considered himself to be at a disadvantage to the rest of them, after all.]
