[What if it was both? What if everything they hold sacred is threatened, anyway? What does she think her retribution will accomplish? It's the ideas behind thoughts like these that partially make Kirei react the way he does.

Again, there is no choice.

He opens his eyes and faces his locket calmly, because he has nothing to hide.]


It's fine. What the Seelie aim for is simple. Their goal is to protect the natural order of the universe, the way things have always been, so that the Void might complete its duty and a new universe can be reborn. I see it as the righteous choice to respect all life. Anything else is selfish and short-sighted. Sacrifice is needed from us just as we are granted gifts; death is a necessary part of life, and the Seelie would not see our deaths ill-rewarded. Nor the deaths of those we hold dear.

[To put it simply:]

It is a purpose greater than any of us. I am convinced my God would support the Void's path, because He would do whatever is needed to run the universe by His rules. And so, I support the Seelie.
