[A few days could be excused. There was a lot happening, people were frantic, fires were burning and people had been hurt. So she hadn't worried for a few days. But a few days had passed and she hadn't seen or even heard from him.

Celebrían was understandably concerned. And maybe someone will have heard something that she hasn't.]

Elrond is missing. I have not heard of him since the attack and I worry for him.

[She's trying to keep herself composed but after everything that happened, a part of her is afraid and trying not assume the worst.]

Please. If anyone might know anything, tell me.

[By now, anyone who had the misfortune to be at Caer Glaem might recognize Ganondorf's face. He was a prominent figure in the attack and was responsible for a great deal of destruction. But now his courteous and almost kind tone seems quite the contrast to the cruel man who used fire to scorch and destroy.]

Caer Scima bears the scars of attack. Was your Elrond present for this assault?

[She might but doesn't. Not right away. Celebrian had been keeping moving, treating the injured and trying to put out fires. And for the moment, he concern lies in making sure he's alive.]

He was present at Caer Glaem, yes.

[dragmire]

Ah. Caer Glaem. [He smiles sympathetically, as though he shared her concerns. And why not? The battle was over and now they were again civilized people.] Your stronghold suffered much in the attack and some were not fortunate enough to emerge unscathed. Have you looked among the dead?

He is not dead. [It's said fiercely. Nobody would hide his death from her, if he'd been among the death. Nor had she seen him among them when she had looked. He was one she could find even if she'd been blinded.]

No easy task would it be to slay Elrond of Imladris.

[It was understandable that she had not heard from him. There had been much to do these past few days and both Elrond and she were not the type to stop working when their help was still needed.

But for neither her nor Celebrían to have heard from him? That is unheard of.]

You have not heard from him either?

[ Maglor had, actually, been having a fairly enjoyable time on his roadtrip - his travelling companions are all reasonable, and even fun to be with, on occasion. Well. So much for that.

The face that greets Celebrian over the locket is anxious and stressed ]

[She would have thought her mother of all people would know best where Elrond was, could ease her mind. That Galadriel even has to ask that has Celebrian casting her eyes down.]

I have not. And he would surely have said something to one of us...

She's trying hard not to seem too worried, to count on the best coming of this.]

We cannot find Elrond. I would not think if it were only a few days during the attack but there is no sign of him.

[Celegorm had come to her. Though he hadn't given his name and she doesn't realize that he may have taken Elrond by force. She trusts in people to be better, it doesn't even occur to her.]

They were not the only ones that made a move. But please- please do ask.

Thank you, nana. [She pauses, tears held back and wringing her hands together.] I hope he is alright.

[The only words of comfort would be a piece of good news to offer her -- he recognizes the healer who helped Kili when he was bitten by one of those worms -- but he has none. In fact, what he knows is that another elf seems to have gone missing, too. Even so, he replies.]

Elrond... Lord Elrond of Rivendell? [He hesitates.] Do you plan to search for him?

[silvergift]

[She's glad to see him alright and that he and Kili haven't been brought to her for an injury. Although the lack of information is disappointing. It's still early though so she tries not to let it discourage her.]

Yes, you know of him? [That hadn't crossed her mind but it's a good question to be asked.]

If I hear nothing, yes. I will.

[bythewaves]

[ He closes his eyes with a pained wince. Even here I cannot escape, for all that I run like a coward.

Doomed we are whispers Maedhros' ghost, and oh but his hands ache, for all that the left is already fully healed. Did you think that any distance might undo that? ]

I am sorry. I will ask.

[walkingarsenal]

[He answers with a nod.] We met him there some time ago -- in Rivendell. [She would have heard, he thinks, so maybe she wasn't there herself. Then, frowning over what he has to admit, he adds:] I'm sorry to have nothing else to tell you yet.

[Oh, how that look breaks her heart.] Come to my rooms, Celebrían. You need not sit and fret alone.

[She smiles, faint and concern barely concealed behind it. Celebrían is grateful though that she had some help.]

[She doesn't recall it ever being mentioned but she also knows her mother and Elrond have both come from a time beyond her own, that she's wed already to their eyes.]

I hope that your stay was pleasant. [Nope, definitely wasn't there.

She tries to hide her disappointment and, for the most part, she does well. Only the slightly slump of her shoulders betrays her.] Please, do tell me if you hear anything at all.

[She doesn't need much more encouragement than that. So she nods and gives her mother a faint smile.] I will not be long.

[She's hoping for some news on the way.]

[Their stay was... something that she really can't have heard a thing about, what they got up to and how they left. Part of him is curious -- who is Lord Elrond to her, if they didn't meet her in Rivendell? Yet he simply nods again, giving her a small smile now.]

It was, though it's a shame that we weren't introduced then. [There's a pause to consider his next words.]

Could he have gone after any of the attackers?

[She will be waiting in her sitting room, watching the locket nervously. The door is left slightly ajar.]
