Magic's kind of a fairytale where I'm from. Something you either tell your kid so they can stop harassing you and go play their make believe games with their friends, or something you tell them to make them behave and go to sleep when told. Happens right in front of their eyes, but mortals never see things for that they are.
Basically. I've had a guy in my head once who would've killed anyone else. Almost killed me, actually. I just want to ensure anyone who goes into this knows what's at risk and can at least handle it. Sending kids out blind is what my dad and his lot do. I'm not into repeating what others have done.
