[He'd wanted to do this more formally, had all sorts of plans for what to say and what topics he needed to address. But his hand is being forced, and so quick and to the point is what he has to settle for.

Some might recognize him, but he's been busy outside the courts and so plenty might not. For those unfamiliar, the person speaking over the lockets is young and delicate-looking, with a regal sort of poise and a currently unhappy expression.]

My name is Saralegui. With the Lady Alyosha's death, rule of Redgate has fallen to me. Were things less dire, I'd have taken the time to speak on the intentions Alyosha had for the city, the hopes I have for it. Issues of rebuilding and peace, moving on from past traumas, maintaining a safe haven for both its residents and shardbearers -- anyone who wants no part in this war. But the situation is dire, and time won't permit me to do things so nicely.

[There. At least he can leave hints as to what was intended, both to soothe his own ego over ruined plans, and tease out those who might have had some interest in any of it. Multi-tasking is good. But frowning now, he focuses, voice steady and gaze intense beneath tinted glasses.]

Reynard the Fox is riding for Redgate. We've no idea when he might arrive, or what he's after, but I've seen firsthand the sort of death and destruction he can cause on his own. The city has already experienced more than enough bloodshed, is still recovering from it, and I would not see it suffer him.

[Only a little bit of a lie in there -- he knows what Reynard wants, as do likely at least a few others who are in the loop with regards with Reynard and Alyosha. But details like that aren't necessary to appeal to those who might be useful here. Those with strong senses of honor, or justice, or revenge.]

I know Redgate has its champions and allies in either court from Alyosha's rule, and there are plenty who would call the Fox their enemy. I ask for those who would stand in the city's defense, whatever the reasons. I leave myself for Redgate as soon as possible, through means faster than by horseback and fairy rings, and anyone in Caer Scima willing to help is welcome to travel with me.

Do you know what path he takes? I am too far away and have something that must be settled immediately to make it to Redgate quickly. But I may be able to meet the Fox before he makes Redgate.

Have spoken to the aforementioned general. He will be departing with me.

A thought: Redgate's mountain passes means it would be alarmingly easy to siege. If Reynard rides up it, it would be opportune to be able to trap him in that pass.

I'll go.

[ If there's two things in Drabwurld that fire her up, it's both Redgate and the mention of Reynard. ]

I was one of the Unseelie that attempted to slay that dragon. I will not stand to see Redgate suffer anymore than it has.

[Waver's cleaning up the Barrel for the evening, his face looking a bit rough. Dogs.]

Likely, but it would help pick off any numbers he has with him.

Lord Dragmire and I had sent workers there to repair the damage done by the dragon. But they are not soldiers.

[ Well. He's been waiting for this to happen. He's Seelie; the golden cloak over his shoulders makes that much clear. But he's a Champion of Redgate, and he will not let that damn Fox take what was Alyosha's. ]

I can be on the edge of Glaschu within the hour, and I'll ride from there.

He was trounced by a combination of Mair's forces, led by Ganondorf, several other shardbearers, and a force known as the Red Hand. Five shards were taken from him, leaving him with seven still. He'll still be obscenely powerful, but not as bad as he could be.

Hopefully he'll he weakened by the last fight.

[ Because Alice is so not looking forward to having to deal with a crater again. ]

Why does he ride to Redgate?

So that is where the Fox is. Thank you. I do not know what aid might be brought, but I can see if I can track him, if you will.

Truth told, I would rather meet the man on a field of our choosing and not defend against a siege. Regardless, I will stay available as best as I can. If it does become a siege, I will rally a force to attack at his rear .

[ Considering just how stubborn Ariadne can be herself despite the fact that she looks about 12, it doesn't even make her blink. ]

They can work magic into the very stone, but I hear that's not much of a help in Redgate. Still- they're good at what they do, and I would hate to lose them.

[ And not just because they're good at what they do. Not for the first time, Ariadne thinks she should be with them -- but with the dogs literally at the doors of Caer Scima, she can't afford to leave. ]

Still. I'll remember that promise.

[ The others called might not feel the same way, but John will deal with that later. ]

Yeah. I've been meaning to talk to you.

[ Ever since he heard that Redgate had been passed on. He's moving through Caer Glaem's halls, down to the stable; he'll get his horse ready and teleport using the sigil of the Seelie crown, and then he'll have to race to Redgate on horseback. ]

If the Fox aims to get there while those fucking dogs are still everywhere, this defense is going to be a pain in the ass.

[ he's just saying. ]

[ This Reynard guy just doesn't stop, does he. Bolin is starting to get a little miffed about that. ]

Alyosha made me a champion. I think I can be at Redgate in a couple of days. Maybe less. [ Depends on how close his armor can get him, if that general lack of powers will put the kibosh on it. But he can figure out the technicalities later. ]

[ Of course not. Alice is looking to get ready instead of ask questions. Haggard, but willing to drop everything to go to Redgate. ]

Perhaps. He seems that childish enough.

[ Alice runs her fingers over the vorpal blade, just to reassure herself it remains sharp as ever. It was the only thing that worked against the dragon, it was not dulled by the blood granite. ]

Then the goal is to cut him off before he gets close. Between Daonna and the mountains, at the furthest, then.

[Waver walks over to one of the bookshelves in the background, continuing to talk as he does so.]

I'd consider tapping Ganondorf to get an idea of what commanding that fight was like. Knowing what to expect should prove to be useful. I know a few others who were also present, they might also have some insight.
