[the locket is being carried, facing outwards, around the castle of caer scima. the feed isn't too bumpy, but it does sway a bit, jerking around every so often as effy avoids tripping over rocks or branches. she's fairly far away from the castle, but that doesn't seem to bother her. every so often she stops, marking a tree with a sharp rock, to be sure she knows her way back.]
Okay.
[she stops momentarily to adjust the locket, turning it around so it shows her face. with her free hand, she tucks the rock away in her pocket and holds up one blue feather, twisting it around quickly between her fingertips.]
It really isn't too hard to find these, is it? They're everywhere.
[fortunately, for her, she doesn't seem to be feeling (or experiencing) the effects of the feathers just yet. she's found two already, within the past hour and a half or so. the effort isn't exhausting, so she's enjoying it. it's like an easter egg hunt. she's only doing it for the sake of figuring out boons, though.]
If anyone wants to come looking, text me.
[or they can follow the marked trees outside of the castle. they're pretty in-your-face.]
Oh, and if anyone's by the station, I'd like a few smokes. Thanks.
[and with that, the locket is closed, ending the feed.]
( ooc: feel free to find her wandering about looking for feathers around caer scima! or, alternatively, find her on her way back. whatever works for you :) )

...pick a branch off your marked trees, where you'd search to see it missing. If they take paint to the other barks to confuse you, it'll help you to know your own work.

Who's 'they'?

What pursuers?
[is there something she should know about, something she should be running from?]

[ And hastily - ]
Not the flight of birds, but chase.
[ You can never be too specific. ]

I've left them so I can find my way back.
[a short pause.]
That's it.

Why would you think that?

no subject
No.
[just common sense.]
Just wanted to make sure I could get back in case it got dark.

[ And now for even MORE tact............ ]
Though you are right to ask for company. You should not be alone, if you know neither the ground, nor how to make travel.

[duly noted. she can still see it if she turns around, and she's not too worried about the ground falling out from under her.]
I'm not far from the castle. If you want to come, just do it.

[a small pause- maybe getting to know people would help her survive this place...]
You've got a name, yeah? I'm Effy.

[ Considering.......... ]
Effy... Ephigenia?
no subject
[she scoffs, rolling her eyes even if he can't see.]
No. Just Effy.
[she hates `elizabeth`. as if she's going to tell some stranger her full name. she'd rather not risk it.]

[and since they're on the subject,]
Where does yours come from?

[where she comes from, anyway.]

But we do not... often... celebrate torture with offerings. Unless so comes word from the Holy See, but then it is not torture, but God's will and decree, as righteously and humbly articulated by our Father in Rome through dismemberment.

[she thinks it's bullshit, though.]
What year are you from?
no subject
[ THE PAUSE IS QUITE INEVITABLE. ]
As I left it, the year had turned to 1490, Anno Domini Nostri Iesu Christi.
