[Po makes sure his locket is only recording his voice, though it's very difficult to do so when one can't actually see, before he speaks up. He doesn't want any sign of where he and his companions are or what they're doing to be revealed.]

I have a question, an important one. Possibly a request for help.

I need to know about cures to lycanthropy. [Beside him, Argos whimpers faintly and he lightly pets the wolf to try comforting him.]

In a manner of speaking. I was bitten by a werewolf and I'll become one if I don't find a cure.

How is that possible? Werewolves are wolfs that are possessed by an evil spirit. You are neither a wolf nor an evil spirit.

It seems that it's a contactable disease here. And I was stupid enough to leave myself within reach of the jaws of one.

I know a little in the ways of healing, though I admit it is not much. If there is a way I can help you, please inform me.

[She did not wish to see one of her few Unseelie friends suffer if she could avoid it.]

I'm not sure, there's nothing like this where I'm from so I wouldn't know where to start.

[He'd like to avoid it too.]

[She is pretty sure this is at least one thing athelas cannot cure.]

Perhaps the library at Caer Scrima has some answers or something here at the Station?

Perhaps but I have access to neither. I may be near the Station in a couple of weeks but I worry about what might happen in that time.

Can you not find yourself a faerie ring to reach either one that much sooner?

[Since the topic of lycanthropy is alien to her, she has no idea what comfort she can offer him. After a moment of thinking however, she tentatively puts forth a suggestion.]

I can't. I travel in a group and we travel by road. There are none nearby now.

[Not without losing valuable days going back. And abandoning his companions and their mission. There were more shardbearers with them, one could conceivably take his place but that would be abandoning the mission himself. And the trust Morla had placed in him.]

That does complicate things. Alright, I'll see what I can find and hopefully enlist the help of someone wiser and more learned than myself who might know something.

I was bitten. And I'd really prefer not to turn into one of those things.

I'm so sorry...I don't know of a cure for it. We have them where I'm from, but I'm not sure what I know would be completely applicable, either. How long ago was the bite?

[Time is working against him here, though she can't say how much he has left.]

I would be willing to try just about anything. [Including one of Raffin's remedies if he and Bann were here. They'd be Seelie though, he'd be willing to bet.]

About a week ago, on the seventh. [So a couple days more.]

How do you feel? And where are you, right now? Maybe the answer's in a court library or someone in the infirmary knows?

Not so well as I did. I have a fever and the sun seems brighter. [He doesn't mention that he's been generally grumpy since then.] I'm traveling at the moment so I have no way of checking the library.

You have a fever? [Her voice softens, concerned.] That could mean any number of things. [Which brings her to her next point.]

I could do some research in the library and visit the infirmary and ask for you. Someone somewhere has to know how to fix it. [Sounds like she's already moving.] I only hope that the way doesn't take very much time.

I didn't have one before he bit me. It could be an infection but it's still something to note. [She might be able to almost hear him shrugging.]

I would appreciate that. Anything that can help would be appreciated.

It could be part of the process, or maybe your body is treating it like an infection. It might not be something that takes a hundred percent of the time and can be fought, but we can't say for certain, yet.

[Oh right, she should probably ask while she's moving.]

Both are possibilities. I can only hope that it's possible to fight it, it would be so much easier if it is.

Forgive the question but the word you use is unfamiliar to me. However, if tis a cure for illness you seek, I would suggest you seek out the Lady Galadriel, her knowledge of such things is considerable.

It's forgiven. [Po sounds tired and Argos whimpers again.] Lycanthropy, as I've learned, is a disease that will turn me into a werewolf unless I find a cure.

I haven't heard that name before.

[ A sharp hiss. Maglor remembers Sauron's werewolves, oh yes. ]

The Lady is my cousin, and a healer of some repute in our world, among other things. But how can such a thing be? The werewolves of my world were no disease to be passed but demons in wolf-skin. I grieve indeed that you must be subjected to such terror.

I don't know. There are no such things where I'm from but it seems that it's possible here. And I have absolutely no desire to succumb to it.

Then I am sorry, sir - this is a thing foreign to me as well. I would suggest asking our rulers but I little trust them. Mayhap there will be others who will be able to aid you.

I would ask the queen had she not helped me already once and only a couple weeks ago. It would seem selfish of me. [That and he's on a mission for her.]

It does no harm to ask, I suppose. I will see if I may learn any news on my end, but this is a strange thing to me, as well.

I understand but please try. Werewolves are beastly things and I would prefer to die than become one.
