[ Katsa’s thrown herself down on the ground somewhere, hay sticking out of her short-cut hair as she scowls at the locket dangling in front of her face. ]

What’s the use of gifts if it can still be even that people are taken out of their own beds at night—where out of anywhere they should have protection? Is it meant to be a distraction to keep us from noticing all the other wrong?

[ are the boons all just a big conspiracy theory?? will time ever tell ]

Po, will you fight me now? I think I need—I can't sit still or think straight. There's so much that's happened, that I'm not sure I understand. I think it'll help.

[First things first:] Are you sure you're alright?

[He stands by what he said back in the Seven Kingdoms, he won't fight with her when either of them are angry.]

I'm not sure of a number of things. [ she sighs and does her best to lose her scowl. ] But I've not lost control of myself. Of that I'm sure, Po.

Alright. [He trusts her to know that she has a clear enough head for this.]

Where do you want to go?

As long as it's flat ground so we don't have to risk fighting with our boots on, anywhere. I'll come back to you quickly—we haven't had a proper fight in a while.

We haven't. And you wanted to try fighting me as a wolf, if I remember?

I'm somewhere south, in the woods. I ran for the stables first to try to clear my mind.

[ somewhere off to the side the cleg snorts loudly. katsa almost looks sheepish, if she were capable of it. ]

And I still want to try it. I'm excited to see what new tricks we've yet to discover from it, especially with the need to fight all manner of things here. [ she absentmindedly rubs a hand over her shoulder, along the scars on her collarbone ] A new challenge for both of us.

Would you like me to wait at Caer Scima or come find you?

[He could try tracking like a wolf.]

And we'd be fools not to learn a few new tricks while we're here. It might even gain us favor from the monarchs. [That's always useful.]

Wait there. It's not often I can ride a mount that moves this fast, even while I'm still getting used to it. [ and there, a poorly suppressed smile ] Now you'll really not be able to keep up with me unless you still have tricks and surprises I've yet to know about. Favor or not, someone ought to find some use or entertainment out of them.

I haven't learned or gotten anything yet that will change that. Just don't run that poor animal into the ground like you would your horses.

What's the point of having an animal like this if I can't ride it that much faster? [ katsa no... ]

Being able to ride faster is one thing, riding it to the point of nearly killing it is another.

I may not be able to sense whether it's strained a wing and wants to stop, but even if I wanted to ride it so long, I'm still adjusting. And I doubt that it'll go down easily.

I'll begin to think you're just trying to slow me down.

[ annnnd now she's baiting him on purpose. still fighting to suppress a smile, but it's becoming more difficult. ]

That isn't saying that you won't eventually try pushing the poor beast harder.

[Katsa no.] If I tried to slow you, would it work?

[ just a shrug in response before she remembers he can't see it or sense it. ]

Maybe, but likely not. [ her voice is much less tense than it was a few minutes ago, and she touches the image of him on her locket before standing. ] Try it and we'll see.

[He smiles, and chuckles softly.]

Katsa. Please try not to push the poor creature beyond what it can go? I will do anything you wish when you return.

[BRIBERY!]

[ now katsa leans back and actually laughs. ]

[ he may not be able to sense her thoughts, but it's pretty clear from her tone where that train of thought is going. a+ bribery method ]

You may want to think about that offer. I'll make sure he doesn't drop, if you think that tempts me to go slower...

[He's going to regret this. He knows he will.]

How much room would there be to fight indoors? I never use my own rooms, but they could be put to better use.

There should be plenty, I think. It seemed spacious enough to me.

The castle walls might as well be in need of updating, anyway. You'll know—[ she covers her mouth with a hand even though there's no point to it ]—when and how I've decided to use your reward for an animal that would have survived, anyway.

Katsa. [He shakes his head, worrying for her and a little about her thoughts. Just because he agreed to 'anything' doesn't mean that, whatever she gets up to, he won't find a way to get back at her.]

I'll believe it when I see it. [She knows what he means.]

Po. [ she says his name back as he says hers, smiling before clicking her tongue at her cleg ] I'm just the better rider. You'll not need to wait too long for your proof.

[ bring on the retaliation 8) ]
